I have a sativa plant already 10 weeks into flowering, check pics over here http://postimg.org/gallery/8bz8goqe/ They have always been under 3 x 45w CFLs. I have changed the light/dark period from 12/12 to 10/14 three weeks ago. Can you please advise me how long do I have to wait before I can cut it down?
read somewhere that this enhances the growth if you shorten the daylight at the last weeks of flowering. i actually feel like this wasn't a right decision and would like to swtich it back but im too afraid that this will mess it up.
today, tomorrow. it may get more frost but its probably not going to put on more weight. If you have clones or seedling waiting to go then chop that bitch and move the new ones in..
and yeah, 10 hours daylight really wouldn't help at all. assuming 10 hours of light in the outdoor world, that would be far than lets say, 40 degrees longitude, which is out of natural range for cannabis.
well you say chop it, but theres people who say it hasn't even started swelling... :/ check this http://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/739744-please-advise-how-long-left-3.html
Amateurs might say that but @ 10 weeks? Your not aging wine here and with CFL it not like you will see some great "swell". It does look very good for CFL by the way.
so you guys say chop it and thats it? i really don't want to miss out on some serious swelling, this is my first grow actually.
I say put your lights 3or4 inches away from that baby for a week in watch em swell abit more.;-) Sent from my LG-MS910 using Grasscity Forum mobile app

would you be able to add more lights vertically? lower. So the lower budsites gets some strong light too
maybe its a good idea, theres three lights up there, do you think i should put two of them lower ( like in the middle of plants height ) leaving just one at the top? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
10 weeks is a long flower period. there becomes a point of diminishing return or else us older growers would go longer indoors. When you are using the big light in the sky hell yes let it go till the temperatures say growth is done.
If you are unable to add more lights, then yes, distributing them better would be ok. I honestly think its a bit late, but its better now than never. Depending how close you are to harvest will determine how much it will do. Your pictures were really zoomed in. Are you able to observe the trichome heads on the plant? if you are you should harvest when all yours are cloudy, or until none are clear anymore, Having amber ones is ok, but seeing as its a sativa, you want to match the affects, so clear and cloudy are best I know from personal experience that i thought my plant was done, all the trichomes were either cloudy or clear, i kept watching it for 2 MORE WEEKS and no trichomes turned amber yet, but the plant got fatter and denser. then the trichomes started to turn amber Have you started to flush?
yes, flushing two weeks in already, since i started i have noticed more and more leaves have gone yellow and fell off. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
hey, look at this http://postimg.org/gallery/bxjfkxdi/85377550/ have managed to take some rough macro shots of the trichs, you're not gonna believe what i used, you should know this too, apply a water drop to your smartphone camera lens (just about big to cover it) and try taking photos from very close distance, BOOM you've got macro shots! warning - wobbly hands do no good using this technique, but worth a try anyway. wish i had something like a tripod, would have turned out MUCH better. what do you think of the trichs? what does it say to you?
IMO the harvest window is open now. How long have you been flushing for the buds you have are small and will only shrink when they are dried out, not much you can do for it now. If you can still monitor the trichomes, keep an eye on the amber ones, SInce you have a sativa you might want to harvest before like 15-25 percent of the trichomes are amber If you want, you can wait a little longer, more trichomes will turn amber, and the plant should swell up a little bit more, and you will get more of a stoned affect off your bud
