Supposive OG Kush, Harvest Day Pics

  1. Hello all!

Yesterday was chop day for what I originally thought was an OG Kush that I snagged from a local dispensary.  7-23-13 002.jpg   7-23-13 009.jpg

    It ended up going 60 days total under 12/12 and was chopped on day 61, I hoped to go a few more days but after a 45 minute inspection on night 60 and finding a surprising number of amber trichomes, I had to do what I had to do! Here are a few pics from it's final few nights - 11-9-a-13 075.jpg 11-9-a-13 079.jpg 11-9-a-13 084.jpg 11-9-a-13 108.jpg   11-9-a-13 086.jpg 11-9-a-13 086.jpg 11-9-a-13 070.jpg 11-9-a-13 060.jpg 11-9-a-13 073.jpg

    After a four hour chop and preliminary trim session I got it all hung in my closet.  11-11-13 003.jpg 11-11-13 008.jpg 11-11-13 010.jpg 11-11-13 012.jpg 11-11-13 013.jpg 11-11-13 014.jpg Sitting at 72 degrees and 53% humidity.. perfect..

Here's a pic of the two clones I pulled from the plant above. 11-11-13 015.jpg  I thought about going with two smaller plants this time rather than one medium sized one this go'round. experimentation is fun.

I'll report back with a weight and smoke report!

    Happy tokin!

  2. Looks like you kept it green and happy right to the end. Well done.

  3. Hello all, I'm baaack.

It appears that I failed on my report regarding the grow from the pics above. I ended up with 72-grams total from that plant, but unfortunately the smoke wasn't what I'd hoped for. I believe I not only dried the harvest a bit too fast, but over-dried it a bit as well, which caused the taste and smell to kind of go out the window. I dried in a 65-degree room at anywhere from 50-60% humidity, so I believe the airflow in my room was a bit too much. Live and learn..

I also believe that I harvested the plant a bit too early, relying totally on the look of the trichomes, rather than the overall appearance of the plant.

So with that said, here are a few pictures of the twins from the pictures above. All but fully mature, today is day 56 of flower. I plan on going until next Sunday (day 63) or a few days beyond. I'll let the plants tell me when to harvest for a change. Here's to hoping my third harvest is my best yet!

  4. Looks good . How long did you veg ?

  5. what does supposive mean?

  6. I had a grow awhile back in which I think I harvested too early as well. the smell and taste went out the window just like you said... I think it was more of a immature plant. I'm growing again and hoping to ride her until the end and have a decent cure.

And I believe it is impossible for that to happen. Even the curing process is like a term for really slow drying. Because all that curing does is drying. The flavours and even burn is due to that. What you probably did as you said was just drying to fast. Wich didn't enable clorophyl to break.Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Grasscity Forum

  9. curing also increases potency. not just smoke quality and flavors. in fact, the main reason you cure is for potency.

  10. It does increase potency, but potency is pre-determined when you harvest. But a lot of the THC is still in the acid form (THC.A), and since it decomposes to THC over the time, or when you reach certain temp. You will get a bigger psycoactive effect after curing. But I was just trying to say that I don't think that there is such thing as over-drying.Peace :)Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Grasscity Forum

  11. Hey there,

I vegged these girls for about a month. I thought I'd give it a go with two smaller plants this time.. and I believe they were both right around 14" before the 12-hr flip.

  12. Oh man, how horrible of me, I sincerely apologize for leaving you in a state of confusion by my use of slang. I "suppose" I should have said supposed to better alleviate any confusion. Wow, I'll never post while high again. Please, will you forgive me?

  13.
He beat you to.. looking like an ass, or trolling my post? I really can't believe you took the few seconds to reply to my post with nothing more to say. Bored much?

Sorry again for using slang, or improper english. I'll refrain from doing so in the future! It seems fairly obvious that I said supposive in place of supposed.

    Have a great evening!

  14. never heard of the slang word supposive either. I think we can all forgive you though. Gentlemen?? is he worthy of forgiving?? I think so. then it's settled.

Was just asking for clarification as I honestly had no idea what you meant.    No need to get all sensitive and butt-hurt about it.....we're all supposive to be adults here.

  16. Thanks! I appreciate you putting up with the likes of a smartass such ass myself. Have a good one!

  17. Sorry man, I'm an honest smartass and certainly meant no disrespect with my comment. Thanks for the response heh. Have a good one!

  18. Hola!

Here's a few pictures of the twins in the bathtub.. One last good flushing today, and the wait for an optimistic harvest day of 1/19. Just before the Seahawks destroy the 49ers.. oh, what a glorious day it will be!

    Thanks for checking em out!

  19. Looks good man. The second plant you got here looks phat!

If you want a good technique for drying/curing, definitely look into doing it in the shower if at all possible. That's where I do mine and it allows me to manipulate the humidity very easily by turning on the shower with hot water when I need to raise it, and conversely just opening the door for a little bit when it needs to dry out.

A friend of mine that grows professionally for a local dispensary said that you don't want them to dry any quicker than 5 days, and I think he is definitely right.

    Best of harvests!

  20. taste is mostly effected by flush. thats why 7-14 days is suggested for flush. longer the better. during the final flush ur leaves should turn yellow showing that the nitrogen is at a very low level and will not be present in the finished product. very important. if u chop based on trichs or flower time and gont allow a flush week or 2 the smoke will be harsh
