i think this idea may be plagirised... but plants have evolved to appease other forms of life, such as apples being sweet allowing them to be eaten by animals and humans and thus their seeds will be spread and they'll grow new trees in new areas. cannabis evolved to appease humans with an awesome sensation when smoking, thus we don't destroy the species of life because it is of 'value' to us. just an idea.
