I've always called the genre trip hop. If you're looking for more artists, I know some realllyyyyy talented ones that aren't well known. First there is Luke Vibert, humorous music and he is just the beat master, beats everyone at the beats. Second is Amon Tobin, really trippy music, all of his songs are works of art. Third is Blockhead, fourth is Future Sounds of London, fifth would be Crystal Method.

And hey anyone who hasn't listened to Amon Tobin, should SERIOUSLY give him a try. I found him one night while way too high, and it changed my entire perspective on music. His music is really untraditional, but every single song is a masterpiece. And it's incredibly difficult to even compare him to any other artist. Check him out

You must not listen to hip hip or rap if you think that all they rap about is money and shit, and yes (hip) trip hop is a style of rap so it should have rap in it, you must be thinking of another type of psychedelic influenced music
