Captains Log, Star Date, March 16. The dreaded spider mites have returned but other than some webs there is no noticeable damage. I hit them again with Neem and that should hurt them a tad. The bloom continues to go well. She chugged down about a half gallon of water which is standard every two days. No nutes, and don't think I'll need any for the duration. Trichomes still clear, but that could start to turn soon. As soon as it's 50/50 on clear and cloudy then it's chop time.
So, flowering began on Feb 11. Today is March 20. Call that 5 weeks of actual bloom. Harvest? All hairs have darkened and gone inward. Trichs are cloudy and clear with no amber. What to do. Might chop Sunday.
Decided to hold out one more week. No amber trichomes so no harm really. The plant is doing better than ever, slightly miraculous if you ask me. Enjoy the pics, the last couple have no lighting enhancement so you can see how it looks from a different perspective.
Damn, as an individual who is having my fair share of problems getting my girls going, I'm really happy to see that your girl pulled through. Gives me hope for my yellowing babies.
Thanks Rhodie, best thing I did is post to the sick plants section of GC. I did that when things got really bad. If you choose to do so, don't take the first piece of advice. Wait a bit and choose among the collection of ideas. I'll see if you have a journal going and perhaps I can offer some input. Assuming you are not frying the weed with nutes or heat I think my experience would say weed is pretty forgiving.
Thanks Farnsworth and high to all. I am holding out one more week so the next check in will feature pics from the harvest and hanging.
Flushed this morning so this ride will be coming to an end soon. Harvest will be either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Then a nice 60 day cure.
HOPE DOPE HARVEST 3.7 OZ wet Before the chop Scale at zero and chop shots Scale shots Trim shots Hang shots Happy happy joy joy
After 3 days of well ventilated hanging the buds have gone to the jars for a 60 day cure at 62% humidity with twice-daily opening for the next two weeks. Took a few tokes of some bud scrap that came about during the jarring process. It was like getting kicked by a mule. Outstanding bud.
Amazing results from such a troubled grow congratulations and I hope I fare as well. ... Sent from my SPH-L710 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Not sure on dry weight yet. My guess is between a half and full oz, more toward the latter. Got it curing in a couple of jars and if the mood strikes I will get it in the scale. Starting a new thread soon, on to the next grow while this cures. Cabinet cleaning day then mix up some soil and start the next ride. I will keep this thread open through the cure. I wish more writers did the same. Curing is dull but has its own challenges.
I have been venting the jars daily for the past two weeks and now switching to weekly venting. So far, so good. RH holding steady between 60 to 62%. No mold, which is my biggest fear. The smell presently is complex, spicy with a touch of skunk.
Cure is complete and the bud is fantastic! Mind blowing bud that smokes very well. Nice mild pine, very gentle terpenes complementing an incredible creeper buzz which does nothing for ten minutes then slowly sets over the next 15 minutes. At that point you are soaring. Nice psychological benefits, motivated and creative. Three good hits and you are fine for the next couple of hours. During that time you can find yourself all over the place, like I said, Fantastic outcome.
