Bagseed and me...the boba fett trials

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by cryptachronic, Oct 14, 2013.

  1. So I'm going to start my journal which i should have done a long time ago. I'm a beginner blade who lived in California for 5 years working in a medical collective and was training to work in the grow room before I had to move back to the non medical state of Texas due to personal circumstances. I started some bagseeds i got from some good mexi-brick. I'm currently using happy frog soil mixed 50/50 with perlite. I have two girls at the moment one who I keep primarily indoors and the other who is usually an outdoor plant but it's currently raining out today so I brought her in for the brighter light. I kind of figured that even sharing light brighter than what we have during the rain here. I'm using the recipe for success kit by technaflora. In my flowering box I have a 150 watt HPS and for 6500 K 23 watt CFLs. For a total of 242 watts. Currently have been dedicating that to only one plant and trying a late flowering which seems to be working fairly well with my outdoor plants. I'm working on a budget 2 hopefully provide myself some medicine since the connections here usually shady and of low quality. Plus the growing in and of itself is very therapeutic I'm bipolar and ADHD and it helps focus me it gives me something to do that is very routine. I keep my PH ranging between 6.3 and 6.8 both for my soil and my water.both girls are in week 3 of flowering 4.5 weeks since I flipped to 12/12. My outdoor girl was nurtured indoors then put outside after the flip. No topping or FIMing or lst. I should have lst'd early on becaus e my ondoor planta fans are bushing out far enough to curl the leaves against the walls of my box. With the door closed its only 1 foot deep. For the record the black container is my outdoor and the bucket is indoor. I also have 16 seedlings started outdoors in solo cups that i have had expeosed to the elements from day one. I began them after the light outsode changed so they should be in flowering as soon as thwyre mature enough. Im doing this strictly as an experiment to see if theyll even produce popcorn this late. Concentrates were always my specialty at the collective so a small batch of plant matter for that purpose alone cant hurt.Below are pictures of my setup. Tell me what tou think? I know this isn't a proper journal but its the best I can do at this time.

  2. Oh and for anyone wondering why I called it the boba Fett trials... For some random reason while smoking I decided to name my girls Boba and Jenga Fett

I've been up and running for a couple months now. Thanks for following me always good to have input especially from people with a more level head than I have. I'm really hoping these girls turn into something nice and I don't have to prematurely end my grow once again. Thankfully these two are in containers so that if worse come to worse I can take them out in the woods somewhere on a south-facing slope :) :tokin:Funny thing is, I've read that thread too and lost it a while back. Thanks for the link. My So Called Journalhttp://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1252916-Bagseed-and-me...the-boba-fett-trials

Doesn't Texas still draw and quarter people for possession of a single seed ?? oooffff

Nice start.. I wondered over to have a lookiesee..  Your running part of your grow outside in fall/winter so I'm guessing you don't get a real hard freeze..
I'm in So Cal and use outside as my flowering room.. so it's fun to find another southern enough grower doing some winter outside stuff..

A little unasked for advice on bringing one of your plants back inside from the outside world.. Beware of introducing an uncontrolled pest like the spider mites Sundance is currently fighting.. If your actively treating, spraying and inspecting every day all the plants indoors and out for pests it shouldn't be to big an issue..

If your not actively hunting and treating for pests brought in from outside you need to be.. In an inside environment there is no predators to slow them down and they can destroy your work in very short order..

If your already on top of this just tell me to STFU.. but better I bring it up now then to see you devastated in a few weeks..

My biggest pest so far is moths and the FREEKING caterpillars they leave in my buds.. Spray BT every week without fail.. as moths and butterfly's never really seem to stop and I run a bug zapper close by as well

There now see I've jumped in and scribbled outside the lines of all your nice crayon work.. Damn I'm such a pig..

Edit: always buy a new sprayer for every product you apply and label it clearly.. I failed to do this and nearly destroyed my crop.. I now have 4 sprayers and should get one or 2 more as I expand my arsenal..

  6. I like outside the lines crayon art. Its all too abstract lol. And yes texas likes to ream people over their green. And as for winter, we CAN get some really cold weather here. The mountains in cali save that problem. I used to be in san jose California. Trust me weather in cali and weather here are majorly different. Althought I figured why the hell not. I started them and will keep them outside. The only thing I did indoors with the seedlings is germ them. I figured what's the WORST that could happen? They don't produce? Oh well...they were an experiment anyway. Basically an outdpor spin on the old 12/12 from seed. Our weather is still quite qarm and sunny here. Althoygh recebtly as I said its been warm and rainy. Which is why I left my seedlings and brought in my big girl. As for pests my main problem outdoors is grasshoppers. I damn near had to torch my entire yard. As for spidermites and aphids...well I hit my plants once every 2 weeks with a light dose of neem based insecticide that is good for mites, aphids, whiteflies, mildew, mold, etc etc. The waorry I've had recently is finding pill bugs (roly polies) in se of my outdoor soil. From what I'm reading though, they aren't harmful to my girls. I'm ALWAYS inspecting for pests. I figured even if thwy aren't there rheyight be one day. And I can keep my eyes open for potential hermie issues since bagseed in my area is prone to genetic flaws. I will say this, my outdoor lady has an odd genetic trait. Normally there would be 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 leaflets. ..however my 5 finger leaves are 6 fingers and the 7 fingers have 8 leaflets. Odd imho. Man...I miss cali hella bad dude. Texas is definitely for the birds until they legalize. I brought some meds from cali with me and mever realuized its value until my brother in law told me. Lmao!! I used to get ounces at the collective I worked at for $110 for top shelf strains like tahoe og and skywalker. I miss that. :( truth be told ill just be glad when thes girls are ready. I still feel like I need to chop a few fans on my indoor for the sake of space. The door pushes in about a quarter of the foliage. That can't be good for my fans.

  9. oh shit, that sucks!

  10. Ok, so round two under way. I got my hands on some good genetics purely by accident. No confirmation on this but I'm almost certain its headband. I've smiked HB far too often, and the batch the seeds came from tasted, smelled, and hit just like HB. 4 of the suspected HB beimg germinated and a handful of unknown bagseeds. Withing the next two days I should be transferring the HB to cups and potentially the bagseed as well. Lately my bagseeds seem to germ slowly the last few times....either way, here we go again. Wish me speedy veg times.

  11. The newest girls are flowering, and we have a lady for sure, and luckily shes the largest of them all. Not to mention she has is not from crap weed. I got her seed from a batch of high quality herb. have two others of the same strain, however both are stunted. One in a solo cup its entire life, and the other a 1 gallon smart pot with a light having fallen on it about 2.5 weeks ago. Downsized from 18 plants to 6 plants and 2 clones I am attempting to root. Clones are from the high quality female. First time cloning, so Im just bullshitting around and hoping for the best. Will drop in some pics soon. Highly considering downsizing again to just 2 plants. My big girl and a VERY nice looking bagseed of unknown genetics. What do you think?

  12. Well, HOT DAMN!!!!  I'm BAAAaaack too!  LMAO :bongin:  Where Ya Been?

Ah yes, MH problems....never been there myself (as a patient) but is a HUGE valid concern....I've got a Bach. of Science in Nursing (did that for 22 yrs) & an Associate of Science in Psychology (did that as a specialty for 22 yrs on & off)  Heavy heavy profession & the patients I treated were the best!  Much better than the whiny patients in general medicine practice who drove me crazy!!  LOL  Hang in there Crypt, it can (& does) get better....Glad to see you back...Vent Sweetie, if needed...I am friends with a few dudes in GC going thru the M. Health & financial dilemma...they vent here with a bunch of stoners who DO understand!  :bongin:  Stoners understand & accept much more than the average Joe out there....Is it because they have expanded their minds in the most natural way??? Does smoking weed help you or hinder?  As for financial problems...I would give (LOL)  a large amount to another Medical MJ Patient & thank them for their support! :ey:

EDIT:  I've only lost 2 clones out of 18....How you doing it?  The process given to me was SG1 & it's simple & damn near foolproof....ask if you need to......

I've been following his threads for quite a while even if I didn't comment. What did you mean about giving large amounts to another medical patient? I don't even have any to support my own smoking until this crop is done, which hopefully will be mid January late January. And as for cloning Mines pretty foolproof also. I just never got around to trying it. I use rockwool. Tap water ph'd to 5.4, a microscopic dose of root 66 from Technaflora with B12. Into that I mix 3 drops if LOCAL organic honey, and soak my cubes. The reson I go 5.4 is the B12, root 66, and honey raise the ph to EXACTLY 5.5...After the cubes soak for an hour or so, I gently squeeze them for excess liquid. Take said cutting using root-tech cloning gel. Insert into rockwool. These cubes I place in a bed of perlite that has been washed clean from any potential nutes. Then place a ziplock bag over the container it all sits in. Once per day I remove the bag to air out then replace it, and slightly inflate it with my own breath. Hey, believe it or not the co2 is a HUGE benefit. I learned my cloning at the medical dispensary in cali. Only problem now is the damn state I live in....that and patience until flowering is done. 17. As promised here are my current pics. Same plants you JUST saw, 3 weeks later. They have now been on 12/12 for 11.5 days. Whaddya think?:p oh yeah the damaged one in the one gallon smart pot, had a light fall on it in case you were wondering. Feel free to ask me ANY questions. Cannabis isn't just a hobby for me.... Its a passion, a way of life if you will. And I don't just mean growing...I mean anything to do with it Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
