~what a long strange trip it has been...~

  4. I've seen them live three times. I own all of their albums. One of the best kept secrets of the music universe. They are getting popular, but they will always be great. Every album sounds different, but overall it's very Beatles/zeppelin/Mars Volta esque. And in later albums they start getting more kind of grunge-ish. The albums church mouth, censored colors, and the satanic satanist are classic psych rock albums. Their EP "it's complicated being a wizard" is experimental and trippy as fuck. Same with the album American ghetto. In the mountain in the cloud and evil friends are there most recent albums. Both worth checking out as well. In the mountain in the cloud is a Bowie esque journey and evil friends is like some fuzzy garage rock blended with trippy neo-psychedelia. Their first album waiter: you vultures is very mars Volta ish. Math rock essentially.

Also, anything by Black Moth super Rainbow is sure to blow your mind. They are made to do drugs to.

  5. Oh, you know them? Then ignore that wall of text. My bad. They are just my all time favorite band and I get excited. I have their posters on my walls, their albums scattered about. I've met them a few times, got to play soccer with them outside of a venue in Syracuse. I was 18 and a senior in high school and idler like such a child with them haha. Hold on, I'll upload the pic of me with the lead singer. I look so in awe.

One of the best days ever.

  8. I always say this. Everyone should know who they are. If more people liked them the world would be a much more chill place.

But other psychedelic bands I would strongly suggest are black moth super rainbow(the album dandelion gum is an all time favorite, always great to blaze to), the black angels(the album Passover sounds like the doors with a lot of fuzz, really great, also the album directions to see a ghost is much more loose, a great jam album. Imagine the band did certain unmentionables in the desert then wrote an album. That's what this sounds like), the flaming lips(Yoshimi battles the pink robots changed my life).

  9. Jamiroquai is fabulous but even better when you're stoned. I really recommend return of the space cowboy. Also, the Beatles rubber soul album makes for a great stoney time on your own.

  10. you might enjoy this then...
