LA Chocolat ongoing smoke report

  1. Currently going through the mids, but I thought I'd make an initial post.

The lowers smell like melon and provide a decent experience. Once you get to the mids, the smell gets much sweeter. Squeezing a mid releases a smell that is similar to another hybrid I grew, Critical 47, except with less citrus and a lot more sweet. This actually made my mouth water, because it smells like sugar cane after you've taken a bite out of it. I'd imagine that's the Chocolope influence.

I first went with smoking in both my glass ice bong, as well as a tabacco-free palm leaf blunt. The blunt was very smooth without the nasty taste that most tobacco blunts add, though too expensive for a regular use.

Using it in a bong provided a much stronger experience, with the Indica kicking in after the Sativa wakes you up. I had a friend call me after I had taken a massive bong hit and held it in for a good thirty seconds (I love ice bongs for long hits). We had a great discussion that lasted about an hour or so. It was technical in nature, yet I was able to process it even better than I normally do. So this is good "project weed".

I have since moved on to my Vape Q. Crazy strong hits that are smooth. The Indica hits right along with the Sativa using this method. I had a headache before I took a few good strong tokes at 200C and next thing I know, the headache is gone. It is very effective for pain and nausea as well. This is one I'm going to keep for sure.

I will update this when I move on to the curing uppers, including the main cola. :smoke:

  2. As I progress through the mids, I have to comment that they are incredibly smooth in my bong. I flushed 8 days before harvest, which isn't long, but I did use Sledgehammer with the flush, so perhaps that is why.

Even though it is 60/40 Indica dominant, harvesting it at 56 days might have made that closer to 55/45. It reminds me a lot of Critical 47, which felt a little more like 50/50 or 55/45 Sativa dominant, since I could smoke all I wanted and not feel sleepy.

  3. ive had a pack of these layin around for a while now. maybe its time i pop em!

  4. I doubt you'll be disappointed. A flowering time of ~56 days is a bonus as well.

  5. I recently harvested my last LA Chocolat clone at 70 days to see what effect that would have on the strength and yield.
The yield didn't increase, but the density of the buds did.

I will be updating this smoke report is roughly a month, after allowing this batch to cure.

In the meantime, I took a small sample of the lowers to try out as a comparison to the last of the uppers from the previous 56 days plant.

I use a vaporizer, so I'm not sure how this batch will smoke, but I can say that the lowers are very powerful. I was halfway through the bag (elbow pack = super dense vapors FTW) when I went to grab a cup of coffee. Roughly a half an hour later, I remember, after setting up another bowl to heat up ahead of time, that I still had the other half of the bag.

    :smoking:

    Pictures to be posted shortly.

Sugar Cane/Coffee is what I got from the aroma, as well as the taste.
Looks like we had a similar pheno also. Mine went 63 days and was a freebie from Attitude a LONG time ago lol.

I didn't find the effect to be anything spectacular, and thought that my pheno was LA dominant, because I've smoked Chocolope a number of times, and never got sugar cane from it..The coffee taste I got on the back end was a little reminiscent, but nothing that reminded me of Chocolope..

After a descent cure, the sugar cane really come forward in the taste and the coffee tends to linger around a little. Grown 100% Organic without any bottles.

Of the 9 other strains that grew alongside this one, this was one of my least favorite...
Sugarcane and coffee didn't really work for me at all, and I think both LA Confidential and Chocolope give off better effects that this strain...So buy Chocolope if you wan connoisseur quality buds, or buy LA Confidential for a nice quality smoke...This hybrid didn't do anyone justice unfortunately..Maybe that's why it was a freebie?

Yeild was also average. Nothing memorable
