Hi folks, I fancied a new strain so I impulsed bought 1 single feminised dinafem blue cheese seed It will end up in my 1.5' x 2' x 4' grow box in flood and drain under a 250w lamp but that still has a white widow in it. When that is harvested in 2 weeks I'll move the blue cheese in to it. Right now the seed is soaking in water and will be put in a small DWC under a 20w CFL. After a few days it will given a 125w CFL
It's had a few hours soaking in water, and I have now put it in a cut down rockwool cube... I usually dislike starting just one seed as it's a gamble to whether I get a good individual or not. But I have plenty of white widow clones to fall back on after this one is finished
And so it begins. I love the blue cheese mate its my fav out of the 3 cheese strains i have . Im going to pull up astool and tag along mate .
Thanks man, I have never tried any cheese strains yet, they have quite a reputation so I'm looking forward to this...
I have a sprout showing through the rockwool...... But it may not be where you expect lol. No leaves as yet but I see a nice root so I'm happy
Day 01. Boom! She has made an appearance. She's looking pretty strong and healthy, I'm very pleased because the seed was small and runty looking. I guess you shouldn't judge a plant by its seed lol. I notice some blue colouring on the underside of the cotyledons, or at least more than usual, I hope that's the case for bud as well. I hear the amount of blue colour you get with these can vary a lot
Looking good gold grower.. You will love the cheese.. Word of caution, she is one stinky bitch..lol... YODA
a bit of a disaster, I was out till late and when I got back the rockwool had totally dried out and the seedling was flopped right over. I watered it and it straightened back up but over the last two days it hasn't grown at all. I pulled the rockwool apart to see the roots and the roots were totalled. I'm surprised it's still standing. All roots were shriveled and dead. The stem must of been taking in some water but essentially I cloned a day old plant and I'm thinking even if it does survive its going to take at least a week to get moving again so I have ordered another seed. Same breeder, same strain. This next one won't go in rockwool. I'll germinate in paper towels and it's going straight in clay balls. I fking hate rockwool
This happened in my grow. Lack of water caused one of my seedlings to droop over. She eventually recovered, but she's 6-7 inches shorter than her counterparts and barely in pre-flower at day 42. Definitely stunted.
I fear the same will happen to me even at best. for the sake of 10 bucks I figured I may as well buy another. I'll keep the original one and if it pulls through ill grow them both out. I'm just gutted things have been set back by a week
I put the new seed in damp paper towels the day before yesterday and it's germinated nicely. Meanwhile the damaged one has been holding on and I have even had a little growth above. So I have set up a bucket for the two of them...
Thanks guys, it's holding on just about, growth is very slow but at least it's still alive. The new one is doing ok That bucket is 5 litres, probably has about 3 or 4 litres of water in it. No nutrients yet. I was planning to add some today but the EC is still rising so probably give it another couple of days before I add nutes
Chimed in... Looking good dude. Trying to figure out where all my old subscriptions went, haven't been on GC in a while. Sprouted a Golden Goat about the same time as you, working on a new grow journal tonight.
