Don't bother with ladybugs. Unless you make a stable home for them, they'll never kill all of the mites if it's a bad infestation. Adult ladybgus, which is what you get when you buy 'em just like to eat a little and mate. The pupa are what love to eat mites and what will do the exterminating. If it was an aphid infestation, then by all means, go with ladybugs. They absolutely love eating aphids. A long time ago I planted a tree in my yard and the damn aphids were eating it to death after a couple years. Bought 5,000 ladybugs and they killed all the aphids. Ladybugs are one of those things that sellers will push like crazy for infestations knowing the person won't use them properly, that way the come back and buy more stuff, stuff that will work.

Also, ladybugs will shit all over your plant and you will invariable find a lot of carcasses embedded in your flowers. It's not bad for you, but it sure doesn't add to the bag appeal.

Get some predator mites and dust your girls with 'em. After about a week or two you shouldn't see any more spider mites. Once the spider mites are gone, the predator mites will die off as they don't eat chlorophyll and have no more food. Or as vostok said, Neem oil, but I don't suggest using it during flowering. Azadirachtin leaves a strange taste in the flowers that a lot of people don't like.

As far as spider mites eating post-harvest, they'll die when you cure your harvest and some may leave during the drying process.

Also, vacuuming! A tried and true method of getting rid of spider mites. Just slap on the brush attachment and lower the speed (Don't shred the leaves). If you don't have a speed adjustment, double over some sort of mesh screen (Plastic, metal, whatever) and stick that into the joint to lower the suction. Be really careful around the buds though, you don't want to knock off too many trichomes.

  6. Sorry for the late response... I ordered a 500 mix of predator mites they were shipped overnight got them yesterday and left them in my boys car we harvested a nice outdoor crop and was distracted by that... Pics to come to another section of the forum soon! But will apply tonight!
