I've decided to keep all my micro stuff in this thread instead of starting new ones.. so this is an edit to help explain what's going on in here.. Lol . Well, I decided to throw some bagseed in a cup of water and see where it goes... I ended up have 11 start out of 15 seeds.. I kept a plant and started my build... potting soil, organic miracle grow soil and given RO water.. this is week three and it still looks rough... it just was placed under the lights for the past three days.. before it was sitting on a ledge under a window.. My set up is 3 27 watt cfl 6700k .. I have another bulb, I haven't hooked the last bulb up yet... I just think I'm burning it or something... this isn't anything special as far as strain.. I was just seeing if I could actually grow something .. the problem I'm having is the temp..(81 to 86) and RH... I.think I'm stressing it out... after the second day the leaves were curled and ends look burnt... I have to put a bowl of ice in there too help with keeping it around 82 degrees.. my exhuast is a 6 in fan blowing out a 4 inch hole.. and intake is 4in as well.. with a pusher blower to keep the cooler air coming in... and a small rotating fan cooling the bulbs.. I need some help on this puppy... I water it twice a day.. about 16 ozs of water each time..lights are on a 18/6 right now... any help would be greatly appreciated.. here are a few pics of setup and what it looks like..
The Temperature should be good in there. 86 isn't TERRIBLE, but lower would be better yeah. You are watering too much. I don't know what size cup you have. I have a party red solo cup and my plants been in there for 3 days without watering, because its still wet. You need to ensure that the container dries out atleast. oxygen is critical to the root development as well as the plants. Constantly been water will not allow adequate oxygen levels. Let it dry out more before water. wait till you can stick your finger 2 inches down the soil and its still dry, then water it, your container should feel light when you water it and heavy after. with a young plant. LESS is more, too much water can kill them. Too much water as a seed can kill it off even. Your intake is too small IMO. You have a 4 inch exhaust, which means your intake opening needs to be 2-3 times the size of that, It will make your exhaust fan work not as hard, and it will exchange air the fastest in the grow area. By having an intake the same size as the exhaust, the exhaust fan doesn't have enough air to pull from to exchange it efficiently, so it starts working really hard, which creates a lot of negative pressure in the grow area. There is a lot of info supporting it.
Thanks so much.. ill ease up on watering..... and check the soil.. so looking at a 7 in intake... leave the 4 in exhaust.. I was thinking the lights were too close.. a little over 2 inches away... ill leave those where they are at.. install the bigger vent for intake... id rather not have a fan pushing the air inside of possible.. my."fan" is nothing than a large blower.. that sits on the floor... Just checked the soil.. and yes.. definitely wet.. ill give the rest in a few days and see how the soil is... So ran to the hardware store.. picked up 4 more cfl.. opened up the intake to 1'x1' square.. added two 4 in fans.. the big white one oscillates... the temp.seem to be higher.. around 87.. After checking the cabinet after two hours of lights on this morning... it's staying at 84 degrees.. RH is at 39%... o ended up removing the larger oscillating fan.(blocking air flow?). just running the two small 4 in stationary ones.. across the plants.. the leaves are fluttering... and the exhaust fan is that 6 in fan pointing at the 4in exhaust hole... peek inside the over watered plant.. and the other one I picked up.. one of the seedlings that sprouted.. that one was sitting outside for the past three days.. direct sunlight... looking pretty good... still no idea what this exactly is.. strain wise.. going to use these as test subjects.. for LST.. and topping.. stuff like that.. if they yield something awesome, if not definitely gaining experance for the better "seeds";-) Sent from my SGH-T989 using Grasscity Forum mobile app

Update.. made an intake stack for the back to get colder air in the cabinet... I.seem to be pushing 90 temps... :-(.. was thinking of changing up the lightning and running a pair of power strips.. with 6 bulbs on each with splitters.. and making a fixture for that to attach to.. looking for creative fixture ideas.. not really digging the clip on light fixtures..bulky to say the least... haven't watered in a few days... letting the soil dry up a bit.. again.. ANY HELP WITH.TEMP issues would be awesome... I see people running so many bulbs.. and temps around 80.. with just one pc 120mm pc fan... wow.. I increased my.intake by double my exhaust... still isn't moving enough.. running the 18/6... side note.. when can a stay ripping this baby... ut is getting it's third set of leaves.. the stem is still green.. wanted to lst and top... man I hope at least one is female... lol.. here are some pics from this am... would just going and getting a 4 in velocity inline fan the ONLY option to cool it down? Tonight..got the rest of the pieces to make those strip light trees... 12 bulbs total.. still figuring out of I need to put some 2700ks in there...and if I should use 12 bulbs.. once it goes on 12/12 .... mixed up some soil for a transplant into these pots..the soil mix I made was in a five gallon bucket..a little over half with organic soil mix.. some cow manure compost, and some peralite.. I think they will be ready this weekend to be transplanted.. these are about three weeks in.. running a blower fan to keep temps cool.. about 84 RH 38%..still need to find a better heat transferring..here's some shots of the over watered one.. and the other one that was left outside for three days..(much nicer)..still searching around for answers about topping.. and lsting..once I get them in the other pots.. Curious on ambient temp outside grow box? May need more help on venting. likely you are circulating hot as opposed to pulling in cool and pushing out hot.
