Using a broken glass pipe as a vaporizer?

    Recently I broke the bowl of a small glass piece while scraping resin. My question is, would I be able to put bud in the bowl that is now wide open, and put a flame underneath to create vapor? I know that the pipe will get too hot to handle, so I plan on using like an oven mitt or something lol.

    Anyone think this would work? Its basically the same concept as those black leaf pipes or a homemade light bulb vape.

    i would think the amount of heat needed to vaporize with glass that thick, would crack the pipe even more after a few uses. not a good idea imo.

    The glass is not very thick at all. It was a cheap $7.99 pipe I got from a little convenience store.

    well then it will most likely crack out even quicker. When metal or glass is formed with heat, it becomes tempered. that is what makes them strong. but when too much heat is applied after being tempered(especially when a break in the surface is present) it becomes brittle, weak, and more likely to break. I could be wrong, but that is how i understand tempering.

    Don't use it as a vape, but you could isopryl all the res in it if you are for " Black Gold"

    i would never even trust the safety of this. I would be too afraid that there are glass shards imbedded in the resin from the break. I would not want to take a big rip just to get specks of glass in my lungs.

     Ive had a dozen pieces brake, and isopryled them. Didnt realize it wasnt a clean break.

    There isn't any resin nor are there shards of glass now. I completely cleaned it out with rubbing alcohol and didn't smoke any of the resin.
    And there aren't any cracks in any part of the bowl. The top is just open and the rest of the pipe is in perfect shape.

    Someone has definitely tried this before..... where you at? Lol

    lol believe me, i tried it when i was younger. i watched my little pipe with the bowl busted out crack open like a over ripe watermelon when heat was applied long enough to vaporize

    many times it leaves a clean break, but i still wouldnt risk inhaling glass shards. Just because you cant see broken glass, doesnt mean its not there.
