Where is Gotham located geographically in the US?

  1. I was watching Arkham Origins vids and it always looks cold.  Same with Asylum and City looks chilly in Gotham.  Just a stupid question.

  2. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think in one of the movies (Dark Knight) it was recorded in Chicago? Dark Knight Rises I'd guess Pittsburgh with the entire team in the movie being players of the Steelers. Guesses though...

  3. trust me i am betting many a stoner have asked themselves similar questions while high

  4. Yeah.... even in the DC promo they show snow flakes going across the screen.

I was wondering if there was a big "ol" Dark Knight fan out there that had a clue.

I'm from the east so I always imagined it to be NYC or Boston or ........who knows.  Never thought of the Chicago area lol..

  5. Just a side note... F Pittsburgh and.... F the Steelers.  Bad feelings for that part of the country.

Yes that was totally unrelated to this convo. sorry

  6. dude you made this there should be no apologies from you concerning anything even slightly related to Batman

"Both Superman's Metropolis and Batman's Gotham City are said by some to be comic book representations of New York City, but the visions of both comics are very different. “Metropolis is New York by day; Gotham City is New York by night” is a statement that has been attributed to both comic book writers Frank Miller and John Byrne. "

  8. I always thought of like the NY/Boston Metropolis.

There's some bodies of water in movies right? Like oceans or lakes? Fits with that area pretty sure.

Then again, I thought Hey Arnold was "filmed" in New York but its actually Seattle  go figure

  9. i never knew that. know where Jimmy Nuetron was?

  10. It's a nick name for New York City
    Best city in the world.

They call ny Gotham because its the biggest city in America

  11.  Thanks..this is what I thought but wasn't sure. And Gotham at night seems awfully cold.  Does NYC not have a summer.  How come we don't see Batman sweating his ass off in that suit sometimes.  Again stupid random thought.

  12. The snowing thing is like, part of Gothams atmosphere. I always think of a snowy night before Christmas whenever I think of Gotham.

  13. arkham city was frigid & dismal place....like a super villain concentration camp sprinkled with political prisoners

  14. Just like the south Bronx
    Uptown
    Almost all of Brooklyn
Crept it gets warm out parts of the year

What I think still bothers me is if we do crossovers with the two then both cities are seperate and disticnt. In this scenario where do the cities exist geographicaly?

    P.S Marvel representing

  16. and why would Clark Kent move to a city then become an alien super hero.  At least Bruce Wayne was born near his hood.

  17. Best city in the world is really stretching it. Best city in the state might even be stretching it.

  18. gotham city is soooo dirty. It probably is located in NY..lol

  19. Have you been to many global cities
