Hi Grass City! I'm new to posting and have only kept journals in notebooks. I have years of growing plants, but not cannabis. I have grown several autos indoors in attics and garages but not in ideal temps. I grew one blue hash outdoors a few years back but that seemed simple as I did nothing but just care for it like I would any plant at the plant nursery I worked at. What I have going on currently:

    Seeds:
    Next Generation Afghan Kush
    Dinafem Industrial Plant
    Dinafem Super Silver Haze
    Dinafem White Widow

    Soil :
Happy Frog cut with perlite with 3 oz of soil sweetener (lime) for the 15 gallons

    Light:
250 watt flouro for seedling and will pair with 400 watt MH for veg

Plan on 1000w hps cool tube for flower

    Tent:
2x4x5 for seedling, will double as hanging tent for I will install my old 4 in carbon filter/fan combo.

5x5x6'7" for veg and flower with 6in carbon filter fan combo

    Nutes: 3 part Fox Farm

I must mention that during germination the tags got blown off the seedlings the 1st day they popped, but I believe they are correctly placed because I know the SSH was the tallest and the WW had not surfaced. The AK looks correct with the short fat leaf. If they are wrong I should be able to identify in a few weeks.

Here are the ladies 1 week from seed

    looking good! I'm following.
The one thing your nursery working skills probably skip are flower hormone and npk additives specifically for marijuana. You should do some of your own research into the flowering products that most suit your setup. But from experience I can say that Bud Candy, H&G top booster, H&G Big Bud and shooting powder or coolbloom powder will help any mj plants flower larger, denser, and help create more thc and cbd percent-wise. for under 60 or 80 $ you can create a solid flower plan. all these products are hormonal based so they should be matched with 1 npk plan (your foxfarm tigerbloom if im not mistaken?). Keep in mind ppm levels too. goodluck!

Thanks! I don't know to much about additives so that is something I'm going to have to experiment with. I do have a ppm meter and ph up/down. The one thing I do not have yet is a ph soil meter, but for now ill have to swing it.

  4. Looks nice, I'm looking into grow boxes.  I need odor control and to be able to lock it up as roommates might interfere.  Most of what I see comes with Hydro set up, I have never done one before.  Would like to try it but may stick with soil for now.

  5. I used my 2x4x5 tent in a garage that had heavy traffic. Because of my horticulture back ground friends and family just thought I was doing experiments. I used a 400watt hps and a 4 in fan/filter combo. I was also growing autos. I would keep the 250 watt flouro low to my plants to keep them small and tight the switch to hps 2 weeks after first sign of sex. It also had zippers that you could put a luggage lock on and no one could unzip.

  6. Don't have a garage, hope to fit it in my closet or in a corner but it would have to look like it belongs there. My tent is at one of my old address I used t live at.  Could ask for that back, but I know its to big for where I'm living at the moment.  Later on I will be able to put it to use again.

  7. Just a note: All of the seeds were from the "tude". All were singles and two did not germ, G13- Pineapple Express and blue hash. First time ever I had a no show and two at that. I started in pellets and a propped open dome for air flow. After all were up I moved to the 4 inchers they're in now and watered. I watered again Thursday and looks as if I'll be watering again tomorrow by weight of the cups (all h20 is ph)The 250 is about 8 inches away and the temps stay between 72 and 78 and R/h is 40. I have oscillating fan moving air around them and stiffen up the stem.
Let me know if something is wrong with what I'm doing.

  8. I thought about doing hydro with this grow just because I like to experiment with plants. Decided against it because I really want to see what I can do with soil first and master it.

  9. Sorry I could not tell you, it sounds good to me, but I'm new at this.  Did one other grow and it was not the best, it did the job but I made mistakes through out the whole process.  I was going to use the "tude" for my seeds.  Looking at getting autos and have them mostly in packs of three, but may go get some singles for now as my shopping cart is up 180 and I have to trim that down for my first order.

I'm looking at getting this for my growing: http://www.dealzer.com/grow-box/cash-crop.html.

  10. Yeah makes total sense.  Wish I could afford to get two so I could do soil and Hydro.  At this time I will be happy with one grow and not have to go out looking for smoke in my new surroundings.  Also I wish I could get two so I can have auto seeds going and then regular seeds going, because there are plenty of strains I want to try that have not made it to auto yet.

  11. Looking for new smoke sucks, I'm in that position until these are ready. Though I moved with hopefully enough reserve to get me through. I've always wanted to try one of those all in one grow box they seem like they would be efficient for ones meds.

  12. How long could I veg with this 250 watt flourecsent and still be productive? I was going to use during the first 2-3 weeks and add in my MH slowly. Could I just use it for veg or should i use the MH also?

  13. Ok I am about 9 days from seed and I have noticed some spots on my Next Generation Afghan Kush. It is also not moving as fast as the others. Leaves look almost ruffled. Is this normal? Is there something it needs?

Here are the girl, the AK is second from the right.

  14. The spots are beginning signs of over fertilization which will inhibit on growth. If your using nutrients, stop. The first 3 weeks of the plants life it is extremely npk sensitive. If its just your soil you'll have to wait it out. When you do start to use nutes I'd give the A.K. 1/2 strength at first and find out its ppm range of uptake. I had a strain like that from fem seed that just couldnt handle Npks above 700 ppms. That's just genetics.

  15. Must just be the soil, Happy Frog. So many mixed reviews on soils, but at least it's just one plant which trlls me its genetics. In the past I have always just let the plants show sign of needing nutes, this time I plan on listening to others and possibly follow a feed chart during flowering. I just want healthy plants for the cycle and a good harvest as a reward for diligence.

  16. Though one time I used a product called Bonnie's Liquid Plant Food starting at 3 week from seed and started at 1/4 strength. The plants were in 2gal containers and within 3 weekend roots were growing out of the drain holes. I had never seen anything like that. It was a small amounts of NPK and I think marketed as use with vegetable seedlings and vegetative growth. It was impressive for root growth.

  17. hmm thats a little odd; Ive used happy frog soil conditioner mixed with fox farm ocean forest and ffof is much richer. what specific type of happy frog did are you using? sounds like basic veg npk- any nutes will make a difference once they can take them. I dont know your budget but I use H&G roots exellurator- best on the market, i use it with transplants babies and clones- has the roots bushing out of the bottom water holes of pots. also with the fox farm brow big veg (if thats whats in your 3 part); I've used it and i'd go half strength every other watering starting in 2 weeks for ya

  18. The soil is Happy Frog Natural and Organic. I cut it with perlite and added some soil sweetener. I do have grow big. I also located some of the other additives at my local hydro shop that you suggested.
After roots start showing in these cups they're in now I was bumping them into 2 gal smart pots then finish in 5 gal smart pots. I was planning on using Happy Frog all the way through, but some say to finish in ffof. Not sure what I'll do at that point.

  19. Correction on the soil, it was Happy Frog naturals potting soil. . I don't know if there is a difference between the two, they are both packaged in brown.

  20. all sounds good. only thing I might consider changing is only doing one transplant straight to the 5 gallon. every time you transplant your plants are semi shocked for a couple days so I always try to do as little transplanting as possible.
