Not sure how to edit my title lol. Not sure what my water company does to the water but I know it ph tested at 7.2 so I didnt want to use it. As far as testing ph if you look at the pic that shows my drainage there is a hole where the tube is that pumps my run off out. I just stick a ph strip in the hole then pull it out and us the color chart provided. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Our tap water is a consistent Ph of 7.2-7.3 year around. After adding nutes I get a PH of 6.5-6.6 with out any adjustments, if just doing a regular watering about .5 milileters of some PH down brings it down to 6.5-6.6. I just let our tap water sit out for 24 hours to evaporate the chlorine. If your water company isn't adding chloramine then I would just use your tap water. I`ve tried RO water and bottled water and haven't seen enough of a difference to make it worth the extra cost. Tap water PH of 7.2 isn't bad.
Hmmmm. Well I never tried adding nutes to the tap so maybe ill give it a shot. Awesome info and if it will save me buying water..GREAT! Thanks for all the help Sent from my SGH-T989 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I live in the Sacramento area and the water isn't bad, its hard water containing magnesium and calcium and will leave spots on windows and my Easy Clone machine but I haven't had any bad results with it on my plants.
my plants have never had tap water under my care they only get aquarium water and i think it makes a major difference upon growth ect View attachment 1242645 these were my plants after about 3 weeks plants from clones oh and im in sac to nice to see a local
Looking good mate. I've noticed checking PH you have to let it sit for a bit to get the final figure where as EC and PPM is just dip it in and there it is. My tap water is around 6.3 and seems to be going ok, I think next time I might put a bit more effort into purifying the water a bit more or buying RO but I reckon if it's working then its all good.
All depends on your water and what your using. For soil grows I`ve tried letting it sit for a few hours after adjusting the PH to see if there is any change and there were none but with my Easy Cloner I can PH the water mix to 5.5 and with in the next 24 hours I have to make several adjustments to bring it back down to 5.8. I will slowly rise to around 6 or a tad bit higher.
By controling growth do you mean height? If so thats wht I started flowering her today. She is already showing pre flowers Sent from my SGH-T989 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Well don't top her or anything during flowering, that would stunt growth. But during flowering, they tend to stretch, just tie her down a little bit, increases light penetration to other bud spots, increasing yield. That might help and would be beneficial in the end. Thanks, she is lookin gorgeous. Yea I wish I could have vegged longer but my height restrictions scare me and the last thing I want is her outgrowing her space and burning up Sent from my SGH-T989 using Grasscity Forum mobile app

A couple quick pics from yesterday. Tryin to keep this thread alive. Added 3 more 23 watt flouros and got a brand new 150 watt hps bulb since the one I had was an old hand me down. Now pushin 242 watts and 22,400 lumens in just under 3 sq. Ft. Of space. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
So i'm not sure if anyone is still following this thread but here a some pics and updates. I am 12 days into flower today and really hope this strech stops after week 2 is over since I am quickly running out of space. If I have to ill pull the box out and leave it in the corner of the closet but then I have to figure out how to keep the light out during dark hours. Other than that no complaints at all. I dont think this grow could possibly be going any better. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
