  4. sorry about the lack of anything at all lately my phone decided to just die on me and money is tight. pics soon. update: day 25 from seed and the plant is looking pretty good. added a couple cfls for some light with a higer kelvin temp for veg. still havent fixed leaks but i dont know if this is going to be an issue since the box is in the back corner of the closet and stays pitch black in the dark cycles. there isnt really any pain other than losing a few lumens with light escaping is there? still using fox farm grow big at 1 1/2 tsp per gallon every other feeding. again gonna try and have some pics up in the next couple of days.

  6. or!, funny mistake.

  7. cool but if u decrease fertililzer use you can garden without runoff

that said i see loads of people flushing their gardens on a regular bases

cant change the world but, i can point out pointless activity IE dog chase tail

    trying to be constructive.

what kind of details about your soil can you share?

  8. I dont go heavy on nutes. To be honest the only reason I added drainage was to gauge how much I should water. Once I start gettin runoff I stop watering.

As for my soil its an organic from lowes mixed about 60/40 soil/perlite.

Thanks for the advice next go I might just try a 3gal bag. That will leave me alot more room for vetical growth, also id rather not be taking unnecessary steps as you said

  13. nice!! how many watts CLF are you using on that setup? just bought three 26 watts pack of CFLS daylight for my first time grow also..debating on how many bulbs would i use

  14. What are you using for nutes?

  15. Thanks!
I am only using one 26 watt as supplement lighting close to plant. Above the cfl there is a 150 watt hps.

As for nutes fox farm grow big for veg and fox farm big bloom and tiger bloom for flower

  16. Your plant looks healthy so far. Are you maintaining the PH of the nute and or water mix going in? When using chemical based nutes that is important for the over health of the plant. Also when using chemical based nutes its a good idea to water or feed till you have a decent amount of run off, this helps reduce salts that build up in the soil from the use of chemical based nutes. The important PH reading is from the run off that will tell you what the PH of the soil is. For soil grows you want a PH run off reading of 6.5 that is like the safe zone where plants will take up the full nutrient range they need.

  17. Thanks tplat! I actually have been doing that since the beginning. Did alot of research before I started. I use distilled water from wal mart which is at a staedy 6.2 after nutes are added it stays about the same. Run off stays 6.5 after distilled. Between 6.5 and 6.8 after feedings. Seems like she is loving it so far. Thank you for the great input much appreciated.

  18. The only time I would recommend buying water is if you have really bad water or your water company adds chloramine to increase the life span of chlorine. How are you testing the run off?

  19. Please edit your thread title to "first time" not "fist time". I thought this was gonna be a thread about fisting or boxing.
