So i decided that in my current situation i would be better off growing 15 autoflowers then trying to grow big plants. So my question for gc is how much hps light will i need to average around 2 ozs per auto?
Hi FatSlob, The way you asked your question leaves room for subjectivity. You could grow 15 autos under a 600w HPS, or a 1k light easily, but two 600w lights would be the best. Rough guidelines of yield per light type (note, environment, genetics, and grower skill have a huge say in these numbers, but an average grower should be able to hit these numbers pretty easily): 600w light = about 1.5 pounds 1000w light = about 1.75 pounds. So (2x 600w) = 1200w = 3 pounds So for only a 20% increase in energy use, you get almost double the yield by using two 600s, compared to a single 1k. Similar amount of light being spread out over more space. This should prove most especially effective on short autoflower plants. Hope this helps!
