Electrical question Hoping to run around 2k watts

  1. Hoping to get some answers as there are no electrical stickies that I'm aware of and im no electrician haha. I have a closet right now that's only like 400ish watts including fans n shit. I want to upgrade though and am confused about amperage. I'm pretty sure my room is on a 15 amp circuit but I'm not positive because whoever labeled them used shitty abbreviations that make no sense.

So having said that... Here are my questions: All 4 outlets in my room are on the same 15amp breaker correct? And if I wanted to upgrade to a total of roughly 1800-2200, would I be able to run a short heavy duty extension cord from the hallway or bathroom right outside to share the load? basically what I'm getting at is I would run about 1300watts in the room, then bring in the other 5-900 from the hallway or bathroom outside the door. (I realize this is prolly a dumb question) If this would not work the only option would be to add another circuit to my room right? The breaker box is in the same room too if that would make things easier.

My ideal setup would be to keep my 225w light in my closet for veg, and incorporate 2 600's for flower in a tent. That's 1400 in lights, plus I estimate another 4-700 in fans etc. I would also debate 2 400's if it would save me a bunch of wiring and whatnot.

Sorry if this is a big clusterfuck of electrical dumbness, but I appreciate anyone's input :D

  2. Most likely they are on the same breaker.  If you want to test that, you can just flip that breaker to the off position and test the outlet.  The ones that don't work are on that circuit.

It is possible to run an extension cord to another outlet if thats on a different circuit.  How you split that up is up to you depending on what you decide to run on which circuit.

  3. Testing while the breaker is down is a good idea I didn't think of that! Thanks ill try this later to check which are on what lol.
