Complete LED Setup

  1. I got the 260s I'll try around 30 inches to start and see what happens

  2. Yes keep them high and watch your plants. If they are "reaching" you can lower the lights a bit. You have to remember that the plants will be growing up to the light source sometimes rather quickly. If you lower the light and they look droopy after a hour or so you have them to close. Once they get accustomed to the lights you should be fine.

  3. Yes. 30" is a good starting minimum distance.

I run DWC so cal/mag is manditory here regardless of lights. My girls veg under just LED and don't seem to have any trouble transitioning to the flowering tent and the LED & HPS. With the cal/mag and decent nutes, even through a two week flush the leaves stay mostly green.

  6. I'm using general hydroponics for all my nutes and botanicare 2-0-0 CAL-MAG plus I think the plus is iron if I remember right.

I run the same exact nutes, with 1 or 2 extras from time to time. I do use the Botanicare CarboLoad in flower. GH ArmorSi and a product called S.O.S. for root protection and mineral mitigation. Seems to work. My tents run about 82-84, and I get ZERO root rot issues. Pics on my last grow thread.

hi all i'm thinking about getting some new lights! i've got a few of the mars II.! so you think these new solar's are better then...? could someone send me the contact info for the lights if possible thanks :smoke:

  11. i got 8 lights (4 900w and 4 1200w mars II area 51 spec) what would i need to be the equivalent of these new lights?
i think the 900w ones are coming in at about 400watts and the 1200w are about 450watts so all in its about 3400 watts so with these new lights what do you's think? and what sizes do these lights come in?
    Thanks

Right now I'm running a mars 900+1200 (stock spectrum) in a 4x4 tent with Solarspec 1040 in another 4x4 tent. Almost watt for watt comparison. Today is day 21 from flip. I don't want to say one way or the other as to one being better than the other, but you can tag along and compare for yourself. Also have a couple vids up on YouTube. I am trying to make this as even as possible (ok different strains, but I do have one same strain in each tent). At this point there is a major difference between the two tents, but I have sativas and indicas growing so I have 5-9(hopefully only 9) more weeks to see end results and see how they compare

  13. Anyone know the price of these panels well at least the ss260 panel?

  14. I have been out of growing for a few years now but plan to start again in a few months.  Originally I was going to go with DE HPS lights but now I am reconsidering.  I have seen a lot of good said about these Mars II lights and figured I'd give them a go.  I priced out a purchase for 6 700W (~350 actual) and 2 400W (~200 actual) at $2550.  That is with their 7% discount for bulk and a 3% off coupon code.  Do you think I would get a better price if I contacted them directly?  Oh, and that is for 6 with flower spectrum and 2 with veg.  Thanks for the info.

  15. i got one question on mars2 site is written Irradiation time is best no more than 12 hours.this ?? does this mwan that they cant be on more than 12h or what?? if it is so how can you use them for vegging or growin autos??

  17. You should contact AMARE as you see these are MSRP prices.

  18. how would one go about doing that? I've been researching LED's for a while and am a going to pull the trigger! I have a 2x2x5 veg tent and a 4x2x6 flower tent, you wouldn't have any ideas as to how many/which would be best for my set up would you? Thank you in advance! Have a great weekend.

  19. Hi Gerrit,

I sent you a PM. As for what is best since they have various models and price points it would hard for me to say. If I go by your dimensions you could use SS-100's or SS-150's. If you plan to expand your grow area in the future you may want to go with a bigger model. I used a SS-150 in a 3 x 3 x 5 tent and vegged 6 plants if that helps.Keep it Green

  20. Yes sir I got the PM, once again much appreciated. See you brought up a great point, I do plan to expand in the next year or so and I'm trying to learn and get my system down and then go from the tents to my 3rd car garage that I plan to drywall and make a flower/veg room so I'll obviously want to be able to use what LED's I buy now, in the future when I expand. I'm excited to say the least to get some LED's and get them running and see what I can do with them! How are you liking yours so far? Any problems? Have a good one, thank you again for the information.
