Perpetual LST Scrog With Dingus

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by Dingus, May 29, 2013.

  1. I was surprised when I tried pollinating a plant and a couple of buds had seeds deep inside the nugs. If I were to do it again, I'd look for a lightening of color in the caylx.

  2. I had that happen too. how deep in the bud the seeds are embedded are dependent on how big the bud is/going to be and when you pollinate. i pollinated early as did you, so we got some seeds deep in there. I think the best thing to do to get the most seeds is to pollinate early and continue pollinating every week. To find them i just look at the bud and examine all the super fat calyxes. they usually also have a line in them and you can see the developing seed through it slightly. you know they're ready/close to ready when you can see the brown of the seed.

haha yeah some just grow fat fat calyxes. the last two weeks they usually swell up huge on most strains. It's still easy for me to identify a seeded bud because of the little opening. if you can see the little line/opening and its whitish the seed isn't fully developed yet.

Yeah its pretty hard to get a pic of it with my phone camera lol.

Thanks hype!! Doin my best :D haha or rather very little work at all. i barely have to water and my plants grow themselves! all i gotta do is super crop and pull the lst down a bit every couple days.  :hippie:  :bongin:  :metal:

  3. Sup Dingus! I hope has been well up in this joint!

  4. Hey Dingus!

I'm wrapping up my latest grow, so I flipped the perpetual grow over to a new thread, with the link in the sig.

I'll post some weights and bud porn up in the last grow this weekend. Looking forward to regular harvests!

Thanks 3d things have been busy lately but pretty swell. Lately whenever I go to post an update the app crashes or something and I lose all I wrote lol.

    Let's see..
Since I'm not comfortable with possible mold (even though I've thrown away all the molded buds as soon as I spotted them) I'm turning 90% of the greenhouse buds into everclear QWISO and also ran through a 0.2 micron filter to remove mold and it's spores. I'm combining a skunkpharm guide (titled salvaging moldy buds or something like that) and OSG's golden goodness guide together. I'm worried about mold spores being present on the buds that have no mold visually present, and then if and when I go to cure it would come back, so instead I'm keeping everything super dry and oiling it.

Harvested the last two GH plants, m4 and SS. They're hang drying in my garage because I don't want to dry them in my normal drying room because that's where all the dry dry bud I'm running is, and possible spores. The m4 and ss both didn't get any mold at all. I don't want to oil these two since they had no mold. The spores are still possibly present though since they were all growing in the GH but I think these two are more resistant and hopefully when they go into curing I won't run into any issues.

Been building up mineral mix supplies for mulching/reamending etc my organic soil and transitioning to no till. I now have kelp meal, neem meal, crab meal and azomite.

I also set up my worm bin and got some more free worms yesterday from a local craigslist lady.

My indoor plants are actually seeming not to happy at the moment. I think I didn't put enough wicks in the sip bottoms and they aren't thoroughly wicking to the top. The top three inches are very dry. I'm going to top dress with combined mineral mix/meals I have so far and EWC and compost, water it in. Hope that'll bring em back to life.

They're droopy and getting purple lines on the stems and the leaves aren't fully expanding and feel rough. The middle veins of each leaf blade are reddish closest to where they all meet but only on the topside of the leaves.

I was thinking either too dry, or lacking humus or both. I didn't add any humus when reamending the soil these plants are in. Also the previous round using this soil I added dolomite lime which I now know was a large mistake because of how high in mag it is. Maybe that's affecting it too?

SS leaves a day or so before harvest. They were darker than in the pic, I had HDR on and it made it so much brighter.. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1414795602.600397.jpg

M4 - smells like artificial grape I like it. Real airy though, prob why it didn't get mold. I actually don't know if this even m4. It didn't grow at all like the first time if it is. It could perhaps be Mendo purps, white widow or Dutch treat. Really no clue though. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1414795640.527901.jpg

nice! I subbed your new thread. Perpetual is the way to go man! Why did you start a new one though? I thought your previous was titled perpetual :p

    Happy Halloweed!

Yeah, it was, but I ended up with a misfire as far as it was "Perpetual." Since I rebooted it, I felt a new thread was in order, and hopefully I can keep an actual perpetual grow going.

I topdressed with some compost and EWC and a pinch of kelp meal/neem/cake/crab meal, lightly watered It in with about 2 cups of water each, I didn't want to overdo it. They were pretty droopy and I figured out the water in the bottom of two of the sips went anaerobic so I dumped all their reservoirs. As soon as they're lighter I'll put some back in. Maybe top water a little bit too?

I also raised the lights to the highest they can go the day before yesterday and today two of them are looking better than before. More green and the vibrance is returning.

Gonna throw the trellis on as soon as they're all happy again. Once it's on I won't be able to take them out.

  8. exactly! My requirement for this batch is for each main branch to have like 4" long at least of thick stem. The branches being well established I think is the crucial factor in growing large buds, other than receiving adequate light and airflow... Normal things etc.

Lookin awesome man :) I always forget you have LED for some reason  My head automatically remembers the Outdoor haha.

Solid plan with the spore salvage.  That sucks man, but you'll make something good out of it :)  Where did you score the micron filter to filter spores? I wanna get syringe filters like they use on Skunk Pharm.

  10. Thanks haha yeah i got a bit of everything going on. indoor led and outdoor greenhouse. I'm really grateful of that skunkpharm guide im very happy to not have to throw everything away. I got the syringe filters on amazon. they get clogged pretty quickly. it's like one per wash, maybe 2. It can get hard to push the alcohol through the filter. The hash i've made so far i'm really happy with! But the yield isn't where i'd like it to be. I'll post pics of some later  :bongin:

  11. Looking great in here dingus! Your setting up a worm bin! :) that's wasup ill be around

  12. Thanks migz! I sure am! it's set up now, i just need to start getting some castings! i'm adding my bokashi'd material to my wormbin and hopefully ill have some super vermicompost in the coming months!

Ahh I wondered if Amazon had it but haven't checked that kinda stuff on amazon yet.

Yeah that sounds exactly like what I was expecting. Such a tiny micron, plugs up quick
