  1. I came across runawayguide.com for some reason and I've decided I'm going to go backpacking over this summer when schools out. Has anybody else ever done it? I'm scared I guess but I'm sure I'll be fine hahaha

  2. Where ya headed? I've been planning to spend a few weeks in Yosemite myself. I gotta save up some money and get back in shape though.

  3. Backpacking is pretty fun. I used to go a lot in scouts and didn't really like it then but now I'm older and stronger the backpack isn't as heavy and uncomfortable. Make sure you have comfortable hiking boots and break them in. Also need to check out your water sources before you go and if you will need a way to purify. Food is also pretty important, don't want to be hiking hungry. Bring lots of non perishable stuff, nuts, beef jerky, summer sausage is a favorite of mine, snacks are important! The dehydrated meals are also pretty convenient and easy to make.

  4. Sorry dude, going to the rocky mountains hahaha and thanks for the tips!

  5. I go either on either backcountry hiking or canoe/kayak trips every year. It is what I live for. :)

  6. Go with some one more experienced than you and learn as much as you can.

  7. Backpacked the Appalachians last summer and road to Colorado on a bike the summer before that. I have a big boy job now so ill have to save up vacation days for a trip soon

  8. Check out utah if you havent already looked. Ive backpacked three times around moab, through arches national park and the la salle mountains and they are amazing. i dont know why people dont talk more about utah when it comes to backpacking, place is dope.

  9. I took my longboard and skated with My friends for 3 days until we got to michigan and we camped out every night... Brought lots of non perishables, a tent and sleeping bag and some fire starting gear. Of course don't forget the drugs too haha ;)
