Hey yall So this is my first serious outdoor grow I was successful back in high school but now I got money lol so in finna go in year. Let's take a looks what we got here, so far I have three good holes filled with Fox Farm soil, the ocean one.... The good holes are about 2 feet the others are roughly foot in a half deep and another 6-7 empty holes here two of them How do these look? I'm.bout to.post pics if the babies in a sec
Looks good.. Good luck U reminded me i gotta start mines too. The weather in MD is looking nice right now
Yeah Mann im trying to avoid them heavy rains we getting this month hopefully they'll be good to go in two more weeks
Yoo the spot I pick is soo freaking rocky I work out yesterday and doing all that work today.. was crazy my spot is on a mean ass hill on a ridge lol my buddy almost slid into the river digging It's rough man I kinda regreted starting ten more beans lls
Here are the plants they are about two week old I am experiencing some yellowing is over water or nite burn we have only been using super thrive and the substrate is moss
Hard to say about the yellowing, but is most likely from over watering. You don't have to water every day, allow the seedlings to dry out a bit before watering again.. SuperThrive does not have any nitrogen but is essentially just a B vitamin, so N burn is not possible. Earth worm castings are nice source of food for seedlings, or try some Miracle grow starter. I've not had a lot of luck with the CFL bulbs, and I ended up buying a T-5 light and my seedlings improved once I switched.
How much are t5s bro, yeah I think its over watering too the babies are in the care of a buddy who.isnt as knowledgeable..... But yeah we def had them in longer than we thought were taking the bigger ones out next week we have like 8 cfls running
I spent less than $70 on my 5 bulb unit. I got it off of Ebay. The T5 do a nice job for seedlings. A heating pad also helps them.
Nice ima look into that next season, plants look way healthier grown with those t5s too. The weathers been off latley we had two or three good weeks of 75/85 degree weather. The spring showers really dropped temps its like 50/54 now i saw it might get as low as 39 at night some day this week, so I'm glad I didn't plant yet.
Update: we put three out today to see how they will do, unfortunately we couldn't water after transplanting.....the soil was still moist from previous rain so I hope they make it
Be careful of animals digging up your plants. I protect the plants with wire fencing till the plants don't cause any curiosity by the local native animals.
How big should fencing be? Do I have to worry about cicadas? Heard they were comming out again smh Do u think sticks and finishing line would be good enough barrier? I know animals can be suspect of anything unatural but I want to.be as discrete as possible
Sticks (bamboo gardening sticks) and hog fencing (sold at any hardware store) will work. Fishing line will deter deer but not work for small animals. Unroll the fencing to form a circle around the plant with the fencing and insert like 4 stick around the fencing. Secure the fencing to the sticks with some string or wire. The fencing will be like 3' high. Never had any problems with cicadas.
Thanks uncle Benny ima go.out there better prepared next week has any one used those deer repellant.sprays? Are they crap?
If you piss around the fence(not so your plants can take it up, they will get nitrogen burn) it will ward off deer, moose and whatnot
We are going to ferment some piss lol how long does it take for seeds to come? We are thinking about ordering last minute
