  1. Yeah, I got that whole thing situated...it'll be in the update.   :ey:

Sowed some of LD's/jerry's seeds a couple days ago, should be interesting to see what comes up.

So yeah, I have a surprise camping trip I'm leaving for tomorrow so the update will be on hold for until Sunday evening at the earliest. Sorry about the delay but I promise I'll put some serious time into these updates.

Next weekend I'll be running the buckets, blasting some oil, harvesting a patch of nettles plus my comfrey plants, checking out a house and getting my 85 SS back on the road. :yay:

Loving this Purple Haze...can't wait to get things going full speed so I can crank out more wonderful herb. Sorry for the hastily taken horrible quality phone pic but I'm in a bit of a rush to get things around.

Speaking of more herb, here's a shot from last night of the next ones getting flipped though I'll be delaying that until next weekend as well. Plan is to start a perpetual and keep it going, so the two larger ones will be flowered next week and the two smaller ones brought back into the other room to veg out a couple more weeks after changing the lighting schedule.

Things are looking pretty nice in my neck of the woods, hope all's well for everybody else's weekend.

  3. Awsome trees gimik! Your room looks way clean, Great job. I love seein a nice clean setup. Painting rooms white instead of mylar is the way to go imo. mylar gets covered in neem overspray and dont reflect worth a shit unless your always cleaning it. When using those stand alone AC units iv always wrapped insulation around the duct going out , or just took the insulation off of some 6in duct i had laying around and pulled that over it. Every little bit of heat you can keep out of the grow space makes it that much more efficient. :bongin:

  4. Yeah good point on the AC line, I forgot to throw some insulated ducting over the stock tube that came with the AC. Used it on the lights + exhaust fan but somehow slipped my mind about the AC...have to do that in the other room too.

    Okay, update time again.  :bongin:

I have to do some catching up for you guys, as I've made a few adjustments and a small amount of expansion (plus this runs results) since the last bit of posting here. I'll make another post after this one to present some current work going on but for now we'll revisit whats already been done.

So, last I left off at was the smoke reports from the last time I finished a few plants up. For the processing part (small nugs and "sugar trim" only) this last time I ran bubble bags for the first time in my effort to create high quality bubble hash or "ice wax", as when things are done properly it is able to be 'dabbed' in oil pipes while still preserving the flavor and aromatic properties from the parent material, unlike BHO. The downside is the lack of yield in comparison unless environmental conditions and materials utilized are thoroughly controlled.

    003.JPG   009.JPG   008.JPG

I found that I prefer my attempt at "ice wax" over any other solvent based extraction or dry sift I have tried so far. Even better than the flowers for the most part...it was smoked long before I ran out of bud. I like it out of my oil pipe more than mixing in a normal piece but it all works well.

Still keeping pristine plants, even without essential oils being applied. I ran out a month or two ago and have just been using 2-3 TSP of Ahimsa neem seed oil mixed with an equal amount of potassium silicate solution at roughly Protekt (brand) strength (I use agsil 16H) then mixed into a red solo cup full of the warm water from the Chapin. Then it gets mixed into the sprayer after ensuring emulsification in the solo cup, along with 1/2 - 1 TSP aloe vera (200x freeze dried extract) after it has been mixed in a separate container. I just apply this mixture once a week and it's worked extremely well so far....even with me being lazier than ever with this system. I will be sourcing some more oils in the near future but it's nice to know I can maintain without them. Incredibly useful for immediate protection and the neem provides longer term control with the silica and aloe rounding it out.

Harvested and propagated my 2 comfrey plants at home as well as the three at a friends house. The first attempt I used jerry's method he posted about a year or so ago, solo cups filled with soil with foil over the top to retain humidity. Poke the stem right through the foil ensuring contact in the soil. Put them into a shady area and promptly forgot about them for a month or so. Came back to find 6 or so out of the bunch had made it and promptly TP'd them into the soil. Recently tried it again but this time I used just fresh stem pieces cut into roughly 3 inch segments, set them into a flat filled with my starter soil and covered each so they were buried. Found out they can root from just stem pieces after I discovered 5-6 stem pieces sprouting new growth and small roots in my vermicompost bin, which is sealed from any light sources. Hardy plants, to say the least.

Also screened some compost I started last year at that same friends house and utilized it in a soil mix. Most intense fungal growth I've seen yet on a fresh mix. The pic of the soil was taken roughly 6 hours after mixing. Also divided my aloe plant to help keep me supplied with fresh material from now on. I recently filled the 250 gallon smartpot I have with composted cow manure (dairy doo, lol) and emptied a couple of small tupperware vermibins into it to get the worms started. Going to order at least 2k more cocoons by the end of this month to try and get everything swinging full speed. No pics of this yet however...soon.

Shortly after finishing up the processing I started construction on a metal box that I bought for $5 with the idea of turning it into a seed sexing chamber, so I don't run into anymore accidental pollination from males I miss nor do I have to dedicate space in the veg room for them as well as now being able to keep males for their pollen in an area that wont affect the flower room, hopefully.

So, I'm pretty happy I built it and have been using it for a couple months now, with the test run being the 18 medicine man seeds I bought from Mr.Nice via seedsman over a year ago. I just soaked them in tap water in a solo cup for 24 hours and then sowed roughly the length of the seed and lightly covered with a bit of my starter soil (9 parts peat - 1 part vermicompost - 1 part rice hulls) in 2 inch nursery pots. From now on its just solo cups filled halfway, less work and stress on the wee ones. This batch I got 17 out of 18 to germinate and ended up with 11 females to sort through after they finish.

    010.JPG   013.JPG   009.JPG   006.JPG   032.JPG

They're pretty well into veg mode again since I TP'd them into bigger pots and switched rooms though still displaying some funky growth and lanky appearance.

    004.JPG   005.JPG   079.JPG

Also started 20 of LD + jerry's seeds (Think I'm naming the keeper Plant Z) in the box recently   :hippie:
16 up though I think I fudged the sowing process on the other 4...I was in a bit of a hurry that night.

I helped situate a greenhouse a few weeks ago as well as putting some plants in the ground, though it's a VERY late start outside it's at least something else to look forward to. I brought in about 200 gallons (about 1 yard of the most recent soil mix I made) to fill 2x2x2 holes and mixed another 1/2 yard of compost into perlite, sand, kelp and a small amount of rock dust to finish it off for this year. The surrounding upper soil layers are heavily clay based, until you get down deep which is just sand. I put out 8 varieties as I'm not sure which does best outside this far north but I suppose I'll find out the hard way this year.

This was the situation which stressed me the fuck out...got told to pack my stuff up and leave after telling the landlady to tend to the outdoor plants (which I already provided, along with growing them out and providing soil on top of the labor) without my help. She didn't like that answer, not one little bit.

So here I am and there it is, basically I got a greenhouse thrust upon me with a weeks notice that it was happening, the end of june at that...still fun to deal with outdoor growing for the first time, even with the added stress and late start.  :ey:

    004.JPG   001.JPG   002.JPG   033.JPG

These are some shots of the plants progression from the last time I really put anything up all the way to current, save finished plant and flower shots. Those will be in the next one, along with smoke reports and details.

I finished the last run using large SIP trays I made for watering purposes, with excellent results. I would've continued using them but the humidity became an issue shortly after flowering so I removed and deconstructed them. Moved the lights back around and cleaned a few things up with more on the to do list, like cutting and running some more insulated ducting, adding lights in the big room and changing out the current 1k MH in the veg room for a 600 MH and 430 watt 4' T5 to get better coverage with less heat output. I also want to utilize a couple of CO2 tanks that have been sitting around for years, finally. Have some "hidden gems" this year out and about at a couple places, so happy... I wont have as much influence on them as the ones nearby but I expect some decent results.

Sorry but I lost the pics I took during the major part of flowering for this last run, so I'll post them if/when I find em.

Those are a bit disfigured from the revegging process but look healthy enough and grow vibrantly none the less. Been rather consumed with work lately so my garden has suffered because of it a bit, though nothing drastic. Like others have said before, every one of them is red/purple all along the watchtower petiole.

    005.JPG

I'm going to give them some time to veg properly and to clear out the flower room for them alone to finish in and get all the attention to detail they deserve. If I see anything like what others have shown...I'll be more than happy, to say the least.  :smoke:

I don't view mine as epic, merely a work in progress when compared to various others' around here...thank you for the compliment though.

Here's a bit o bud porn, just for that.

  20. Tell me about it bro.  8 hours of work starting @ 11 pm.  Then farm work till 2 or so.  Get some sleep and start over again.  But the "stink" in the garage tells me the farming was worth the work.  Hope your season is everything you anticipated it to be.
