Before getting started, I would like to extend my welcome to anyone and everyone to post whatever you wish here, including whatever questions you might have. I want my threads to be safe havens away from the bullshit too, so if you act up, you are out and thats it. All that read this have been fair warned.:smoke:

There is a buttload of work to still be done with the room and I would like to chronicle the journey as we go along. My wife and I just bought our first house together, and I have decided to transform one bedroom to my new grow area. I have had a few successful grows with tents, but I'm ditchin those to build myself my dream room. I do plan on a secret entrance to the room, 100 amp sub panel, dueling bare bulb vertically hung 1000 watt mixed spectrum bulbs.. and a few other goodies along the way :yay:

I have racked my brain for months, but the time is here now.. I will be attempting to get the plants into the building within 1 week.. haha like I said, lots of work to be done. I'm currently in the middle of building 3 new grow rooms with my own being one.. I am an uber busy person right now,but I'm seriously gonna attempt to knock this thing right in the front tooth.:D

I did forget to get a before picture.. the room had really nice brand new carpet, padding, molding, and the little strips to keep the carpet on that me and a bud tore out prior to me taking the pics.:D so this is the blank slate that we have to work with!:

Also got some of the supplies that I needed for tomorrow.. I couldn't find any SER wire at The Homie Depots.. anybody got a clue where to get some? I'm also wondering if I should get plastic or metal boxes for the outlets, is there really a big difference? Maybe I should just ask one of the dudes there... but I never do.:p:

Also some of the previous results that I have had while being a member on at the city. Enjoy!:smoking:

And I left the toilet seat up :D

  3. Impressive if I do say so myself.

Got to sub to this one to. :)

Don't forget to edit your sig as well bro!

  4. Metal boxes bro.
Find an electrical jobber for the cable if the lowes and depots don't stock.

  5. Hey guys! Good call on the sig.. I'll go do that right now.:bolt:

Smoking on some o dat Fruity Chronic Yall! Love this shit.. hoarding like 3 zips right now and I only smoke .35g a day of it..only right before bed. Super night night.:smoke:

  6. Dude, I got a saweet deal on the panel.. 20 site 100amp plus 5 single pole 20a breakers for 50 bucks. :metal:

Is there a reason that you go metal boxes?

  7. Metal vs. plastic both have their advantages and disadvantages. I prefer metal, but I do use plastic where appropriate.

    METAL BOXES
    -more expensive
-more variety of sizes and styles
    -do not burn
    -do not break or crack
    -are gangable
-can be used with conduit and armored (MC) cable
-threads for fixture screws do not strip easily
    -can rust
-must be grounded (but that may save you from independantly having to ground each switch, which you would have to do with a plastic box)
-some styles can easily be converted from old work to new work
    -are available with internal clamps
-for device boxes, depending upon the style, have less volume than a plastic box of the same depth, thus cannot contain as many wires

    PLASTIC BOXES
    -less expensive
-less variety of sizes and styles
    -plastic will burn
    -can break or crack
    -are not gangable
-cannot be used with conduit or (MC) cable
-plastic threads for fixture screws can strip easily
    -cannot rust
-are not grounded, but all switches, as well as outlets, must be independently grounded (which you would not have to do with a metal box)
-NM cable cannot be secured to the box, so must be stapled within 6"
-for device boxes, depending upon the style, have more volume than a metal box of the same depth, thus can contain more wires

  8. I wish mine turned out better. I had high hopes for my FCJ.

  9. Thanks for the box break down homeboy, very un-trollish of you.. What kinda scheme you tryin to pull here?:poke::p:p:p

Just joshin with ya.:p Honestly, I'm slightly on a budget, so I'm gonna have to prolly go with the plastic ones. I appreciate your help bud.:D

  11. Congratulations on the new pad. Can't wait to see what you do with the room. Is it just for flowering, or are you going to section it out?

Yeah the smilies don't translate all the time. Lol

  12. Subbed! Looks killer in here. Really need smell-o-vision haha.

  13. "Then fuckin lahey shows up wasted as god damn hell and ruins everything"

Dude thats a deal on that panel. If you can't find SER check your local listings for electrical supply houses. They have thousands of feet of that shit on a roll that they sell by the foot.

Well damn, now that you got your new thread together I'm gonna have to quit talking about it and get mine goin already.

I'm excited to see this run. Our rooms are very similar. Mines a 10x13 and my girl just said shes cool with me using the other 8x10 bedroom to veg in :D

It's time to fuck shit up!

  14. I can't wait to see that space built up and filled in. Some day ill have a whole room, some day.

  15. A proper grow room is the tits bro, Glad to see you ditch those tents... maybe you can use them for camping. I need to do a panel like that. My electrical is maxed out now when I have to run extra heat or ac. Those Buds are looking like world class smoke. Subbed for sure.
