  1. I am hoping this method works well with an autoflowering strand I'm getting ready to try it any have any advise ? the plant is a few weeks old

  2. I've never grown an auto. I would assume it works the same way. I do not think that you will have enough time to produce seeds in one grow though. What you can do is spray a branch (not the whole thing because you can NOT smoke or consume the parts that were sprayed with it, so you will sacrifice only one branch rather than a whole plant), when the male flowers open up, you can collect the pollen and save it to pollenate another plant later on. I say that because seeds take at least 5-6 weeks to mature. The male flowers won't come out until around week 3-4 of flowering usually (give or take). Not to mention the time it takes for the pollen sacks to open. So by that time you will be approaching harvest. I'm sure there are ways to make it work. Just like I said, I have no experience with autos, my only knowledge about them comes only from reading.
But I do know that if you do the process I just suggested and grow out another auto shortly after, as soon as that one begins flowering you can take a q-tip, dip in the pollen that you saved from the other one, and brush onto the pistils where you want seeds and have the time to finish. Hope this helped, but maybe someone can chime in with some additional advice that had made feminized auto seeds.

  3. Quick update; the branch I've been spraying is showing tiny sacks! Here is a picture where the sacks are not visible because they are too tiny still. I will post another picture when they grow and open to show how simple the process is. If my pollen sacks open within 2 weeks, I will pollenate the plant and make some fem seeds with it because I'm still very early in flowering. If it takes longer, I will not have time for the seeds to develop so I will just collect the pollen and pollenate my next plant.

  4. There we go. To wrap this up, here is a pic of the pollen sacks. When it matures and the pollen sacks are only on one branch, it will show better how it works. The strain is blue widow from dinafem seed co. I apologize for the not-so-clear picture, but you should be able to see the pollen sacks. If you look closely, the pistils right above the pollen sacks began to shrivel and die. This happened right before they began to show. The rest of the plant looks beautiful. The leaves look good and they suffered no damage. Just the female flowers will die off.

As a reminder, do not consume the part that you spray. The seeds are fine, so when you grow out the seeds produced by them, there is absolutely no harm there. If you want some usable part, then do as I did and spray only one branch. The male flowers will only pop out where you spray.

To get an idea of the length in time this process takes, I sprayed the first time the day that I made this thread. Today is the official day that spraying is no longer necessary. For clarification, stop spraying when the pollen sacks are present. I hope this helps someone.

Oh and the best part, I will have exact seeds from the mother plant that are feminized. So instead of paying $100+ for a breeder pack, I paid for 3 seeds and now this will produce around 100 (my guess) for only about $15, which includes a 20' roll of pure silver wire and a 9-volt battery.

Any questions, feel free to ask!

  5. Now, do you plan on isolating that branch in a clear bag to keep control of what actually gets pollinated? Or are you just gonna let it fly..

  6. No, the more the better! If I wanted to control what gets pollenated, I would just take a clone and spray the clone :)

  7. I couldn't agree with u more if I tryed but your correct about time or lack of to mature seeds when growing Autos

  8. Thanks for the suggestion Irishguy!

Note: today the majority of male flowers opened. Before today there were few here and there but little to no pollen in them. Today, if the branch was shaken, pollen would visibly fall from the branch. Pollenated the plant. Will update when seeds are finished!

  16. damn this is great info. my wife always gets super sketched when I order seeds. So now I can make my own fem seeds from my favorite strains!

  17. Hey Killer'...

Have you (or anyone that's tried this/or similar technique) had the time to grow out any of the fem' seeds that you've made? I'm curious as to how many hermie plants this might produce. Short of using a true breeding female, it seems that producing some herm's would be inevitable.
