I have been playing and listening to bluegrass for about a year now. It is an incredible, skillful, and, humble genre of music that is sort of underground. Any other bluegrass musicians out there? Here is Garcia, Grisman, and Rice. Playing Shady Grove (pizza tapes album). [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0ODUbDLS7A&sns=em[/ame]

Right on, I play guitar. I'm actually just getting into bluegrass. My dad plays Banjo in a bluegrass band, so ever since I was about 12, I've been jamming with them when I could, but I'm currently trying to learn flatpicking and man it's tough. If you live anywhere near NY you should check out GreyFox festival, all the bluegrass superstars go, and it's a 4 day long event, with all cool and chill people. When your not at a concert, your sitting in a circle picking away.
my guitar teacher was in a band called mission mountain wood band, they've opened for the dead before, and my other guitar teacher is a bluegrass player, lots of talent in those guys
My Dad was at this show and said his hands were bleeding by the end because he got down so hard. They start with a Clapton cover. Absolutely Stellar. A little quiet but just blare it. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba4rUkYf_NI]New Grass Revival - Live at Telluride, 1977 - YouTube[/ame]

I'm not going but I just looked up the lineup and its killer Del McCoury Infamous Stringdusters Keller Williams Devil Makes Three and like 20 more acts but those four are hot
Bryan Sutton with HotRise as well, can't wait. It's the only festival that I know of that everyone hangs out and jams together
I straight up reside in the bluegrass state itself yo though I don't know too much bluegrass , I've grown to really appreciate it I'm still on the line of enjoyment tho I do really like the avett brothers however emotionalism is one of the best albums ever made and one line wonder is my favorite song of all fucking time . Pisses me off seeing all these Mumford fan boy posers thinking they know everything about bluegrass cause they know little lion mind oh well
Resurrecting this thread because I'm getting into bluegrass. My work has live music a few nights a week and these guys, Ike and Martin, rejuvenated my feelings for bluegrass. They do some great bluegrass covers. I was listening to a bunch of the gourds earlier too, something about covers done well ya know. Great original stuff too
