I garden in larger (15 gallon pots) of homemade organic soil with high humic content - no bottled nutrients. The same day that I harvest a plant I dig a small 1 gallon hole out of the middle of the pot, removing the stalk of the freshly harvested plant, dust the hole with some fresh vermicompost and a little kelp meal and drop a vegging one gallon plant into the hole - and so the cycle continues. It works extremely well with no deterioration of quality or quantity. Some of my pots have had the same soil in them for 15 to 18 grows and counting. No bottled nutrients, no checking or adjusting pH and no flushing; just pure organic goodness. Simple as hell and extremely effective. j
