Well here it is folks...another start to a new season. :D I already started germinating my first batch for the year so i thought "what the heck, might as well start my new journal". i'll have 2 runs this year (and maybe a run of clones later on). the first run will veg until late april, then be transplanted to their outdoor holes. the second run will start immediately after first run goes out. my plan is for the second run to be outdoors by late may or early june. Here is the line-up for my first run..........

x2 Dutch Passion Frissian Dew (fem)
x2 Female Seeds Purple Maroc (fem)
1 Barneys Farm Pineapple Chunk (fem)
    1 Humboldt Pineapple Skunk (fem)
    1 Humboldt Blue Dream (fem)
    1 Humboldt OG Kush (fem)
1 Reserva Privada Purple Wreck (fem)
1 G13 Labs Blue Venom (fem)
1 Bomb Seeds THC Bomb (fem)
1 Bomb Seeds Berry Bomb (fem)...........

these seeds started germinating exactly 24 hrs. ago and 6 of the 12 have already popped out a 1/8 inch root. not bad for 24 hrs. i figure within 12 hrs. i'll be planting my babies :) they will go straight into red plastic cups (beer pong cups lol) with a good quality seedling mix. it consists of sphagnum peat moss, peat humus, perlite, and dolomitic limestone. it is also enhanced with myco-tone (7 species of ectomycorrhizal fungi). i will plant the seeds (root facing down) about a 1/4 inch deep, then cover each cup with a sandwich baggy (homeade humidity dome) and rubber band the baggy to the cup. all 12 cups will go under a 4 ft. 4 bulb high out t5 from here. like i said earlier this run will go outdoors late april. then the second run starts...........

x3 Dutch Passion Frissian Dew (fem)
x2 Female Seeds Purple Maroc (fem)
    x5 Greenhouse The Church (fem)
1 Bomb Seeds Cluster Bomb (fem)
1 World of Seeds Mazar Kush (fem)
    1 Blimburn Orka (fem)
    1 Blimburn Kabrales (fem)
1 Greenhouse Auto Sweet Mango (fem)
1 Delicious Seeds Auto Critical Jack Herer (fem).........

as said these plants will go out late may or early june. as far as soil ive got a few mixes in mind, but not set on anything yet. thinking of mixing pro-mix, earthworm castings, mushroom compost, cow manure, vermiculite, rock phosphate, azomite, bat guano, kelp meal, fish meal, and lime. let me know what you think. im not sure on ratios. over the course of the next two months i'll be scouting out a few spots, and digging/prepping holes.

well fellow blades i will try my best to keep this journal updated, and picture friendly. anyone and everyone is welcome. ;) i would love to hear any input, thoughts, ideas, or advice along the way. like the title says this is my third outdoor grow, and i hope ive gathered enough knowledge from the good 'ol Grasscity to pull off a bountiful harvest! as us guerilla growers know though, a harvest is never a guarantee. i like to say once you put your plants outdoors they are no longer YOURS. lol at least not until you harvest them. i will post some pics within the next few days of how my seedlings are doing, and best of luck to everyone else!!!

    Subbed!

Nice early start, should be some hardy ladies by the time they go out

  3. WOO! Looks like you're ready to grab this season by the balls! Can't wait to watch this unfold.

  4. welcome backwoodsgreen :) yea man after the last two years of putting out stretchy/lanky plants ive realized i need to invest in a decent light for better veg. im hoping the high output t5 will be a good enough light to keep the girls somewhat short/bushy. im gonna top them quite often to get multiple branches coming up. my goal is to have small bushes that are hardy as hell by the end of april. thanks for stopping by, and i hope you hang out for a while

  5. haha yea im trying man. im gonna check to see if all my beans germinated after i type this message. i have a good feeling they have! then all seeds straight to their cups/humidity domes, and under the t5 they go for a while. i know its early but i couldnt hold off any longer. i've been thinking about this years grow all winter long. i still have a lot of work ahead of me. finding new spots (fuckin thieves) digging/prepping holes. havent even bought my soil & amendments so yea still got a ways to go. thats why im giving myself 2 1/2 months of breathing room. i dont have enough money all at once to go drop 600 bucks on soil & amendments, 150 bucks on light & bulbs, 200 bucks on seeds, ext. gotta work all my expenses in over a period of 3-4 months. anyway rewbinson thanks for stopping by, and i hope we all pull off a stunning season :hello:

  6. Subscribed and ready for this good grow show

  7. quite the line-up you got there. You gonna be needing a hefty amount of soil. I wish I was legally allowed to grow more than 7 plants, technically I can only run 3 flowering plants and 4 immature plants.

Are you sourcing your mushroom compost from a local mushroom farm? That's the way to go, here it costs me about $10 a tractor scoop. I filled the bed of my truck for $15/bucks and the stuff is awesome. Already loaded with mycelium and good kinds of fungi. It should be a good economical way to bulk up your soil and the microherd will love it as well.
I'm using mushroom compost in my korean natural farming project, its a good medium to cultivate and bulk up the indigenous microorganisms in your area. Once you've bulked up the IMO's you mix in some soil and native soil, which will bulk you IMO's up even more and by this stage you will have a mix that is just supercharged with good fungal microorganisms. And all it costs to make this is some elbow grease, a couple cups of rice, brown sugar, and some kind of medium like mushroom waste or rice bran.

  8. hey thanks bro! i go to a local shop to buy the mushroom compost. its priced decent. thats crazy though you get a truck load for 15 bucks! i couldnt find a deal like that in my area. im definately going to look into the korean farming. sounds pretty cool. good luck with your grow man and i hope you hang around my journal for a while. its gonna get good :) (i hope) lol

  9. well i got some good news...i was a perfect 12 for 12 germinating my first run! that puts me at like 98% success in my lifetime with seeds. DONT ANYONE EVER TELL ME AGAIN THE PAPER TOWEL METHOD DONT WORK LOL! now all 12 are in a homeade humidity domes. now i hope i can go a perfect 12 for 12 sprouting them! things are looking good, and i'll have some pictures soon when they sprout (if they sprout). i have the t5's about 10 inches above the cups. once they sprout i'll move the light down to 5 inches or so. then after a few days of adjusting i'll lower to 2 or 3 inches...

  10. Nice dude! Glad you went 12/12! Sounds like everythings going well for you so far.

  11. Yea so far. Hope i dont run into a bunch of problems later on like last year. Gotta experience the bad though to get good right?

  12. well 4 of the 12 have sprouted already :) i think most of the others will pop tomorrow. will keep you all updated

  13. My friend with the same genitics :hello: you hace quite the plan. Those T5s will do wonders, im stuck under cfls. Cant wait to see the PM i have seen all your posts asking about while researching it myself. It will suprise both of us.

    Happy Growing
    NEG

  14. hey newenglandgreen. how's things goin your way? yea i was always stuck using cfl's and had to fight with stretching plants. thats why i invested into the t5's. i hope its a big difference. im hoping this PM is gonna be the shit. from what ive read it is. not a huge yielder, but a very strong plant. should be perfect for my environment. oh yea all 12 plants have sprouted!!!:hello: 12 for 12 germinating and sprouting! good quality seeds from a quality seedbank (Attitude). the og kush seed looked a little weird (deformed) but still worked out great. im so excited, and still have 2 months before the weathers nice enough for plants to go out. i wish i had another t5 to start my second run. i wont beable to start them until first run goes out. :devious: id much rather wait though instead of starting them under cfl's. thats one crucial thing ive learned over the years that your start is very, very important. once that plant starts growing stretchy/lanky it tends to grow that way its entire life. late start with t5's blows away an early start with cfl's in my opinion. time will tell. should i now move the t5's within a few inches above the plants now that they've sprouted??? i dunno if i should wait a week or if they can handle it now?

  15. hey gotitko :) thanks for subscribing, and i really hope i can entertain all readers along the way :D

  16. i knew you'd be coming around sooner or later spike! welcome to the 2013 season my friend:D

  17. just took the humidity domes off of the plants. boy am i glad i did. some were lookin a little rough, and needed some fresh air i think

yeah, i never run humidity domes, thats more for cloning when you want the cuttings to put their energy into rooting and not vegetative growth. Seedlings dont really need em.

  19. ive always used humidity domes right after germing with the paper towel method. seems to work wonders as far as sprouting. im close to 100% successful sprouts doing this. once i see the first set of green leaves the domes come off. my thought is the humidity/moisture helps the sprouting process. i could be wrong though...
