How long does the smell of smoke linger in a house?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by mattytsanchez, Feb 2, 2013.

  1. Alright so I just found out my parents are leaving to Las Vegas this Saturday morning and coming back Monday evening (so about 55 hours, haha). Saturday night I'm going to invite a few friends over and have a nice smoke sesh; bongs, blunts, js, the whole shabang. We'll probably be smoking for a good few hours. I've heard that your furniture and stuff can retain smoke smell. I've got a big ass couch, some soft chairs, carpet, and that's pretty much it for furniture. My question is, will the smell be gone before my parents get back? If so, how long does it linger around before disappearing? Gracias guys & stay toasty!

  2. Eh I'd say anywhere from 1-3 hours tops. I always smoke like an hour before my mom gets home and she never notices.

  3. Party hard on saturday night. Sleep it off till sunday afternoon. Then wake up and clean clean clean. Clean with all the windows open. Vacume. Spray shit down. Wipe counters. The whole shibang. That way by monday morning, the house should be all cleaned up and smelling like pine cones. Just make sure ur parent dont visit u early by suprise lol.

    Think like a G homie ;)

  4. Thats what they made febreeze for :p

  5. just open the windows when they leave and clean a bit. The smell doesnt stay for long unless you constantly smoke in that room.

  6. I would just smoke in the garage, Blunts/joints will reek. Better safe than sorry

    my 2 cents

  7. dude u got sooo much time. if i were you the first day id smoke like 7 blunts and just chill watching impractical jokers and playing black ops 2. repeat the second day then only smoke in your room the third day with windows open.

  8. I do this every night. :smoking:

Even though I'm allowed to smoke in the house, I be polite about it and smoke in the bathroom. Luckily, I have a bathroom in my room and it's far from the door. I plug up the bedroom door with a towel. Then, I crack the windows. Then, I bring my iPod dock and subwoofer in the bathroom, plug up the bathroom door with a towel, and light up, occasionally turning on the fan to clear the smoke. When I'm done, I store everything away, spray a bit of air freshener, and go do whatever I'm in the mood to do.

The smell is usually gone within 10 minutes.

  10. I personally would smoke joints/blunts outside, or in a bedroom or somewhere that won't smell up the whole house. If you're just smoking from a bong/pipe you shouldn't even have to air out the house. If you do decide to just smoke in your living room or whatever, I would air out the house that night or the next day. If it still smells by Monday, keep airing it out and cook some strong smelling foods. Almost a whole 2 days gives you plenty of time to desmellify the house, but have a fun time partying!

  11. 2-4 hours

Less if you have filters in your ventilation, and exhale threw a heavy cloth.

  12. Dude don't.

If you do it will linger for maybe 2 hours

Blunts doe bruh holy good luck

  13. Yea really. When u smoke joints or blunts. The smell lingers for hours. Sometimes even days. But a good clean up like i said before should take care of it. If you clean the whole house and leave it sparkly clean and it smells like pine-sol. Then your parents would want to leave town more often. :hello::smoking:

  14. i'd smoke blunts and joints outside, or atleast in one room that you can clog up and clean the smell up in
bowls, bongs, etc smoke indoors but being very cautious not to get ash, embers, or bong/bowl water on anything you cant throw away without a second thought
get very good airflow going on sunday and dont forget to air out your whole house every 2 or 3 hours from when u start smoking

sunday evening clean your whole house like a boss so there's absolutely no evidence of smoking going on

  15. I'd be safe and smoke out back..that way you can be worry free..

  16. Joints and blunts are for outside. Papers can allegedly make the smell stick. But you should be fine to bong indoors if your parents aren't back until Monday.
