When asked what kind of music I listen to, I say "rock kind of stuff."

I like rock but, to me, I prefer music that draws from several different places (as much of rock does). I like country, bluegrass, ghospel, jazz, classical, all kinds of blues (as long as it's raw) and stuff all kinda mixed together. Good harmonics, cord progression, technical savvyness, and a respect for roots are all important qualities. I love a good song writer.

Some of my favorite bands/artists are Grateful Dead, Son House, Robert Johnson, Allman Brothers (with Duane), Lyle Lovett, Sea Level, Les Claypool, The Band, Bonnie Raitt, Jack White, Stephen Stills, Neil Young ... I could go one for a while but that's good.

:metal:

2. Have you listened to "Weightless"?

3. I'm rather partial to bands such as: TesseracT, The Human Abstract, Animals as Leaders, Fair to Midland, older Mudvayne, Paul Gilbert (this guy is the tits), Ron Jarzombek (Blotted Science, Spastic Ink), Dream Theater, Symphony X... And to be honest... Creed.

I don't think so I prefer The Man Who sold the World and the whole Ziggy period people say he was trying too hard at being a rocker but thats silly. I think he was later trying too hard to keep up with the popular style and the powder;)

15. Space Oddity, Man Who Sold the World and Hunky Dory are my favourites. With Ziggy, Station To Station and Low close behind.

Listening to this album for the first time in ages bringing back some good memories.
My love of rock music started with hearing Iron Man by Sabbath and some Bon Scott-AC/DC, never looked back, man. From Cream to QOTSA, Judas Priest to Neil Young, it's my favorite genre. I think it's more powerful than any other genre just because of the heaviness of the electric instruments used. When you put on a Sabbath or Motorhead record, you feel powerful. It's amazing and that's why, as Neil Young said: "Hey, hey, my, my, rock and roll will never die"
Hell ya

Saw my IDOL Eddie Van Halen live back in may. To this day being in the same building as him was one of the greatest moments of my life. The whole band fucking KILLED IT. Daves voice is shot to hell though.

20. Oh, no! Not Bowie.
