Anyone know someone who treats schizophrenia with cannabis?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Messiah Decoy, Jan 28, 2013.

  1. Anyone have MMJ card for schizophrenia?

  2. CBD has shown lots of promising results in curing all mental issues. Multiple studies have already been done showing CBD to cure schizophrenia and much more. I strongly believe High doses of CBD will soon be known as the cure for mental illness. This site sells CBD Tinctures dixiebotanicals.com

High THC is not recommended alone for people with mental issues, but if CBD is added then possible undesired effects from the THC can be removed for a very pleasant medication. So if you are going to pick a strain go for a nice indica preferably with CBD such as critical kush. Many people have written good reviews about that site so i would recommend it.

  3. I noticed everytime I stopped toking for an extended time I would start getting paranoid delusions and I've read studies where cannabis proved just as effective as popular anti-psychotic medication.

  4. From my experience, marijuana may "mask" the symptoms of schizophrenia... but really its just all an illusion and puts you deeper within the illness, especially when stoping use for a while...

  5. I'm hoping to replace my meds with cannabis.

Those pills are bad for my liver on the long term.

  6. Yes if you read what i posted that is my point. High THC alone can Disturb a person with mental issues. If you were to use a high CBD oil or tincture these issues would go away. You could then most likely use cannabis with no issues at all, any strain you like.

  7. You need a high CBD strain! Don't even bother with non-high CBD strains, if you have a need for an antipsychotic, you need as much CBD and as low THC as possible...

Normal cannabis strains now a days can be from 10-30% THC and 0.01-1% CBD (which to give you an idea how powerful CBD is, that percentage ratio is enough to stop possible negative effects of THC for MOST people)

But if you're trying to treat something like schizophrenia with cannabis, you should ingest cannabis with MUCH higher CBD content and MUCH lower THC, almost the entire opposite of 98% of strains today...

There has been a new discovery thanks to modern science, that CBD can be even better than the antipsychotic drugs that have been produced over the years with literally no side effects...

So, what you need is to look into high CBD strains ( >4% CBD content)

There are at least 12 that I've seen. Most notably: Harlequin (locally in Maine the harlequin at an Auburn dispensary is 4% THC and 7% CBD), Cannatonic (usually 1:1 ratio, i.e. 8% THC, 8% CBD), Sour Tsunami, Omrita Rx3, Trident, ect.... google them you'll find at least a few more, but those are the ones I know well.

These strains have been found to have as litte THC as 0.01% and as high CBD as 30% !!!!

If I were you I'd look into those, and I wouldn't even pay attention to the other cannabis strains once you can find access to that, it is exactly what you need and I personally believe (as long as you can find a strain with high enough CBD and low enough THC, it might even be that a 2:1 CBD to THC ratio will do, I don't know. Hopefully you can find some of these strains wherever you reside) that you can find the perfect medicine for you that hopefully maybe even one day you won't even remember you had this horrible condition!

    Good luck, and god bless!

  8. OH, and one more thing... Make sure you can get your bud tested before you consume, so you can ensure you have the correct phenotype!! This is important for you because even though a few of these actually have become fairly stable, i.e. Harlequin is probably the most stable, you can still get seeds, grow it and it may come up with 20% THC and 0.5% CBD...... which is like bassackwards for what YOU want and need, the well known "5% THC, 10% CBD"

So just make sure wherever you get it from, that their mother plant was once tested or a cutting from it was, or if you grow, that you can find a way ti get your tested... BUT, if you can't for some reason, you can google how the effects of harlequin usually are (like on leafy.com and such) and you I'm quite sure are familiar with what the average high THC sativa feels like... and you can differentiate and you will know roughly if you did end up with a good phenotype or not, though I STRONGLY suggest you have it tested especially for your condition, it's a very good thing to make sure you have the best for your needs... but there should be a very very big noticeable difference between the high CBD 2:1 Harlequin or whichever strain you acquire's phenotype to the high THC phenotype

Hope it goes well for you! If I could find a high CBD strain in Maine, I'm sure you can wherever you are as well!

  9. Idk about cbd treating all menal issues. I have ADD and sativas with low cbd help me alot more than an indica. depends on the condition man.

  10. I heard that Harlequin is incredible for ADD though, I must add! That's like the number one effect I read about is how it makes people feel extremely clear and focused. I even read it helps your memory instead of impairing it like a lot of strains can, there is a lot of science backing that up as well!

  11. Both of my schizophrenic episodes happened at exactly the same time I decided to quit smoking marijuana. Coincidence? I dunno, what I do know is that I've never had an episode whilst smoking daily, maybe we found the cure?

  12. Ooh, I'm going to say that it's difficult for my friend to smoke any cannabis. Even tiny amounts, he he to massively paranoid and thinks people are out to kill him.

  13. he needs all cbd, with just a teeny weeny thc
