PHOENIX - The story of a Phoenix police officer who shot and killed a man Tuesday has taken a shocking twist. We've learned that the officer, Richard Chrisman, is now under arrest.

This all started at a trailer park near Central and South Mountain. A woman called 911 to report domestic violence on the part of her son, 29-year-old Danny Frank Rodriguez.

Officers showed up at the home and at some point, Officer Chrisman opened fire at the man, killing him.

"They killed him for no reason they just shot him," said Elvira Fernandez, the man's mother, anguished. "I said don't hurt him whatever you do don't hurt him... they went in there and they killed him!"

Chrisman was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a felony.

The probable cause statement alleges that two officers went inside the mobile home and Rodriguez began yelling that they needed a warrant.

Chrisman allegedly pulled his pistol, put the muzzle against the suspect's head and told him, "We don't need no warrant [expletive]."

Over the next few minutes, Chrisman shocked Rodriguez with a stun gun and shot his pit bull.

When Rodriguez started to retreat by taking up his bicycle, but he and Chrisman struggled, and finally Chrisman shot him from 2 to 3 feet away, according to documents..

Officer Sergio Virgillo, who accompanied Chrisman on the domestic violence call, told detectives that he saw no threat and no weapon in the suspect's hands.

Officer Virgillo, a 14-year veteran of the force, called it "the worst day of his life."

"We will investigate this thoroughly and we will do everything possible to make sure we have the facts and take the appropriate action based on the facts," said Phoenix Police Chief Jack Harris.

Chrisman was released on a $150,000 bond about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

PENSACOLA, Florida - The Pensacola Police Department has
banned the firing of Taser guns by officers from moving vehicles
following the death of a 17-year-old.
The teenager died this month after a patrol officer fired the
stun gun from his cruiser. The teen then fell from his bike and the
officer hit him with his cruiser, according to witnesses. The
officer had ordered Victor Steen to stop after spotting him at a
vacant construction site early on the morning of Oct. 3.
The officer is on paid leave while authorities investigate. The
death has prompted community protests and vigils.
On Friday, Assistant Pensacola Police Chief Chip Simmons said
officers would no longer be allowed to fire Tasers from their
    cruisers.

Cop Who Shot Pace University Student Named 'Officer Of The Year'

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkIk4f5i58c]Cop Who Shot Pace University Student Named 'Officer Of The Year' - YouTube[/ame]

As the investigation continues into the shooting of Danroy "D.J." Henry, the popular Pace University football player shot by police last year, a police union decided to give the "Officer of the Year" award to the man who gunned him down.

In response to the award, the victim's family lashed out against the Pleasantville Police Benevolent Association, saying it wasn't that much of a surprise.

"I'm glad the world gets to see the arrogance we've been dealing with since Oct. 17, from the district attorney's office all the way to the Police Benevolent Association," said Danroy Henry's mother, Angella Henry, in a statement Tuesday.

The US Department of Justice is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the Oct. 17 fatal shooting of Henry who was killed outside a Thornwood bar. Officers on the scene claim the student drove his car into Police Officer Aaron Hess and another officer, prompting Hess to open fire.

Friends of Danroy Henry gave a different account, however. Henry's friend Desmond Hinds told PIX 11 News:

"I remember everything. I was in the backseat of the car, we were in the fire lane, officer came up on the left and banged on DJ's door, he indicated us to move, DJ followed instruction. He pulled off at a nice normal speed, not speeding; as he turned I remember the officer on the left comes and jumps out in front of the car, next thing I know...I see three holes in the windshield (and) the car came to a sudden stop. I saw the bullet holes in the windshield, then i heard DJ yell 'they shot me! they shot me!"

Four fellow Pace University students were arrested that night after chaos and utter confusion erupted at the scene following the shooting. The students faced numerous criminal charges that were recently dropped as prosecutors ruled the actions taken by the young men was a result of "youthful visceral reactions to the sudden, unexpected shooting of their friend."

A grand jury also decided not to charge Hess or any of the other officers in the shooting.

"What is the criteria for Police Officer of the Year? Killing an unarmed African-American college student?" said attorney Bonita Zelman, who represented four of Henry's friends who were arrested that night.

In defense of their choice for the officer of the year, PBA President Matthew Listwan said, "The PBA's Award is an expression of support for the dignified and professional manner in which Officer Hess has conducted himself throughout this ordeal, and most particularly, the very difficult aftermath of this tragic incident."

To Danroy Henry's family, however, the timing of the award was troubling. "It just seems weird to us that they would honor him while he is still under investigation by the Department of Justice,¿ said Angella Henry.

Rob Hoell and Peter Thorne contributed to this report.

    Goddamn morons with guns

Serial killers get the death penalty and most time wait 30 years for it.

If a cop shoots someone for domestic violence he should have a 12 guage shuved up his ass then fired.

I just watched almost every video you posted and im literally in tears every video is messed up beyond comprehension...

When a civilian murders someone does he get to investigate his own case??? So why if a cop murders someone the "police" investigate thats complete horseshit

  10. I hate to say it, but this is why all interactions with police need to be recorded. From start to finish. Lipstick size cams are cheap as hell nowadays.

Other countries such as Peru are already starting to do this. The U.S. should as well. Protects the citizens as well as the police.

Is it infallible? No. But it's certainly better than the cops word instantly being considered more credible or more valid than a citizens when the facts are disputed.

  11. in the "offical fuck the police" thread there was a link to a 2 hour documentary called Into the Fire. I watched the entire thing last night and.. holy crap..

Pretty much summarized Toronto being a police state, detain and confiscate anything and anyone they want during these peaceful protests. Along with cops dressing as aggressive rioters to incite violence so they can further crack down on citizens.. About 1:23:30 in the film you see a group of random citizens get circled by armed police and they advance..dragging you out one by one in a horror movie fashion. POLICE WILL TREAT YOU LIKE CATTLE. Just goes to show those who don't believe government wouldn't ever pull shit like this. Just goes to show how suddenly we would be helpless once the big dogs finally make the decisions. Prepare for martial law. 1.6 billion bullets in homeland security for a reason!

  12. Fuck tha police.

  13. Pigs like these have no soul. There are no logical reasons to carry ones self in this manner. May they rot in themselthemselves

  14. Bitches wanted to give aaron swartz 30yrs for taking notes. But cops like these get promotions and a hand job

  15. I have seen "Into the fire" and its great. That dude from the "love police" Charlie Veitch used to be cool but he shill'ed out hard core. Plus he also goes by the name Andrew veitch which the news anchor woman exposed. There is also a awesome movie called "Battle in seattle"which is based on the WTO

  16. These videos are reasons why the "Gun Ban' needs to stand down!

  17. Keep on pushing the people.

    They're going to push back.

I wont even watch the videos. It will only feel me with unwanted emotions. All I know is, something has to give.

  18. Watched those videos and literally had to load a bowl and smoke just to calm down especially the one about the Atlanta officer, and the dog, poor pup.

  19. Oh no it's OK we don't need guns. We can trust these honorable law enforcement officers to protect us and to be there when it really counts

The truth is I have a great deal of support for the police and would normally give them the benefit of the doubt. But I only got through your first couple videos and I'm already getting pissed off. At least the first cop is being charged for his crime, that's a change of pace.

  20. This spot seems like the bestest place for this video.

The police rack these guys like straight thugs. And they wonder why people distrust them
