whatever you smoke out the most so you can estimate how high it gets you as opposed to last time.
cause obviously taking a fat bong rip will get you higher than a pipe or something

 

I honestly think spoons, quickest path to your lungs with no water or paper. But I personally only smoke bongs, so it is really personal preference.

 

when you smoke a LOT of weed, after years and years you just know. you take in the whole experience, look, smell, taste, up the the little feeling in your throat you get from smoking some good bud, and then ultimately the high.
when you're ready, you will know. hahahah.

I can usually just tell by look, smell, touch, like has already been mentioned.

Usually though I'll pack a one hitter, or just a little bit in my bowl. Enough for one hit. I've been smoking for years, so even the highest quality stuff doesn't get me high on one hit. But usually from just one hit I can tell the quality of the bud.

 

Rip that shit.

above posters covered most of the ways to test your bud. Another way to tell the quality of bud is by looking at the ash as you smoke it. If it has alot of white ash that is a sign that the producer has properly filtered out chemicals when growing, if the ash is black not so much.

 

I break up the bud and grind it in my fingers for a little until I feel how sticky it is and the smell of course

I don't really need to test quality anymore. Once you've been smoking long enough you can tell if a bud is fire by the look, smell and feel.

As far as taste-testing goes though, vapes give the most noticeable taste but I also find it is a very different taste from what you get when you smoke the same bud. I don't like vapes in general. I would rather test taste through a bubbler or a joint (usually a joint).

Overall, best way to test is probably a micro tube or a bubbler, followed by a joint.

 

I usually load it in my vaporizer. I can tell the slightest differences in different strains and the taste can be so unique. Funny this thread came, because over the weekend one of my buddies gave me a joint with some primo bud in it. I gut it so i can put the weed in my vape. He freaks saying no, the best way to smoke that good stuff is a bong or spoon. Needless to say, i vaped it. Nothing comes close to a vape when i wanna test for flavor and potency.
