For almost 1/4 the price of the single Phx honeycomb I have, it looks pretty good. It's probably gonna have a little extra drag. Still it looks decent for sure

For the money id either go with the apix or SSFG gridded stemlines. I know its not a waffle perc like you want, but the quality far surpasses anything black leaf makes.
I have a Cheech Glass double honeycomb perc bong and I really like the low drag on it. I almost got their triple honeycomb perc but knew I'd be adding a showerhead ashcatcher to it so I thought it would be overkill. It's 1/3 the price of the PHx and a very similar design....as many on here will likely attest It's also "chinese glass" which will likely be mentioned as well. But if you'd rather spend $150 instead of $450 for practically the same design, it's a great deal. Here's a pic of mine with the ashcatcher. whered you get you HiSi piece? LHS? I cant find them online, only place near me that sells them is 40 min drive through STL.
I was about to buy a Kind Creations honeycomb style tube tube at my LHS and I did some dry runs on it. IF its anything like a PHX, the holes are so small that water won't really travel through them unless its forced to, so you end up with this air bubble right under the perc that takes a little bit of lung effort to pull through. After that, it was a dragless piece that stacked like crazy, but all that drag at first was kinda off-putting to me. If anyone who's hit a PHX honeycomb can comment on if they do this too, that'd be awesome!
A little air does get trapped under the honeycomb on mine. After every hit actually. But to pull it back thru requires no more effort than a regular drag. Atleast that I've noticed. Ill pay attention next time. Phx is overpriced, but if you actually use it daily and get your money's worth from them... They are awesome. Not something to spend so much on and use only a hand-full of times, it's really not that 'pretty' but it is a beast
+1 exactly. This is why people like me buy the many other designs that are similar in nature for a fraction of the price. It's not worth what they charge for it.
This is my illusion glass bong with honeycomb to shower head (when I was at headshop paying for it) It's low drag, percs like amazing, no splash in my mouth. gets dirty as fuck fast but it was well worth the $280 I payed for it, I love it
I'm sorry. Read the question wrong. No smoke gets trapped. Just when the water settles back, a little air gets under the filter. And I've tried almost every water line in that piece, I still have yet to find the 'sweet spot'. So I've been keeping it completely level with the honeycomb. I'm gonna put a little extra in it tonight and try again now
Isn't that trapped air something that happens with honeycombs? it's doesnt present any issues with percing so what seems to be the problem?
My Cheech double honeycomb is ultra-smooth on the drag. My only gripe is that it's a 7mm piece and not a 9mm. I like a wider mouth to draw from, but the bong itself is fantastic.
