Im looking for some macabre literature, creepy, disturbing things by authors like Poe, and Camus.

What do you guys think? Its not just horror fiction im interested in, I want it to be considered Macabre.

Other than that i have no preference, detective....disease.....serial killer.....monsters....aliens....Doomsday/post apoc. Whatever!

The road is one book ive been REALLY wanting to read, thoughts? (not the movie one, the original.)

I want to feel claustrophobic as i read, like...in a scary video game where the save point is 45 minutes away, you have no ammo, no health, and theres something hunting you. (What book will give me the same feeling of helplessness?)

one thing though, i hate romance. So if its included keep it to a minimum please, thanks in advance!

Im a fan of classic lit. also, so if it was written between 700 AD and 1900 i probably would really enjoy it.
