Dreaded hermies

  1. Should make a horror movie with that title. So I've been inspecting my plants ( reserva privada headband, space queen, g13, and ct Og ) throughout their whole growth for signs of hermies..since they are all new strains to me. I've never had a plant hermie on me before, but you never know with new strains. And I'm talking about clones here, not starting from seed.

Well I'm 4 weeks into flowering, and 100% my plants have hermied. And it happened quick. I last inspected them for this a little over a week ago, everything was fine. Just checked today, saw that calyxs towards the bottom had their pistils browning and dying off. Picked one off, very little white seed like thing inside. There's no clusters of balls on any plants. I don't even see the bananas coming out. But I've picked off plenty of calyxs with some seed like thing inside...some very small...basically just developing...and some a tad bigger.

Problem is finding the culprit. There's one plant (ct Og) where i have just one of..and it's seeds r a bit bigger, and more of them. So I separated it, but at this point I'm guessing its too late anyways. If there's seeds obviously whole room is pollinated. I'm thinking by separating it would spread less and let me finish off my grow with less seeds? I don't know, like I said...first time dealing with this. I've read all about it before...read people saying they just pull the plants. But I will be starting week 5 on Monday and these are some very nice plants. I've topped, lst'ed , super cropped...spent so much time with them. Vegged for 7 weeks, and expecting around 6-7 ounces on each one( good eye for it) . So this would be a huge waste.

Not sure if I just keep picking off the calyxs( once again no balls on these plants) , to help prevent the plants from focusing their energy into the seeds or what. I still have about 4 weeks to go, that is a long time to go when you already see seeds...you know what I mean ?

Looking for any advice here....as I'm sure many of you know just how shitty this is.

    Thanks in advance fellas

  2. Got any pics

  3. I don't unfortunately , but for sure they have hermied. Anyways, been doing a lot of reading on the dutchmasters reverse. Heard good things and bad. Bad is it being a chemical and it affecting the smoke. I refuse to add any chemical to my buds..so I wouldn't spray it. But did read someone using a sponge and qtips to apply to small leaves and fan leaves only. Wondering if I should give it a try. I just know having 4-5 weeks to go in flower that its going to affect this crop

  4. Gobble gobble

  5. Ok lets see if someone can answer this. Will an older calyx..basically near the bottom..kinda die and open up(with the pistils brown and receded) or is that strictly male parts that do that?

  6. Im asking either dumb questions...or very difficult ones lol. Alright heres some more, like i said before my plants definitely hermied. And now i was looking at the top buds, and on some i now see the bananas. Not real big yet like i see in some pics, but its there. Morre of a lime green than yellow right now. Picked them off along with the lil green seed attached. As stated above, ive only ever noticed some tiny white underdeveloped seeds in the calyxs.

But now of course, here we are . I spent 3 days this past week using the dutchmasters reverse and saturator. Didnt spray my plants becausr of chemical, i used a sponge on all the leaves( besides sugar leaves that are full of resin..trichomes..). Im now on week 6 of flowering, they look great..besides the ugly green bananas. Probably never eat a banana again. Now finally, onto the question( i ramble when im pissed..and my fam certainly doesnt wanna hear about it). I need to figure out how this happened. As i said above, these were all female clones( supposedly). Now lets say i did something to make one of them hermie( never did before), would that plant pollenate the others? Or would i basically had to have made them all hermie? Bottom line is im trying to figure out if i was indeed given all female clones, and not a born hermied plant in the bunch

  7. There are no dumb questions. What I noticed is spread out the branches and look halfway down the plant. That's where the male flowers seem to show up first. I had a plant hermi on me this time and I've been trying to figure out why. Maybe cuZ one night I turn the lights off at eight and the next day it's seven thirty maybe some light leaked in. I hate Hermes. I have a fan on the floor and I had a hermie. It blew the pollen all along the bottoms. The tips were fine but the bottoms popcorn buds got seeded. It's hard to keep up with a hermi. It's easy on week one through three but once they full in its near impossible to catch em all. I guess an environment caused hermi pollinating a few buds isn't as bad as a genetic hermi doing it. I'd separate that plant right away bro. Don't take the chance. You'd be able to tell if the entire plants were gonna be ruined because the buds won't grow nearly as fast and large and you'll be able to feel the seeds
    Good luck broski

  8. Thanks for the response. I saw more nanners after looking even closer so said fuck it..just sprayed al of em with the reverse and saturator. Instead of using the sponge to avoid the buds like i did before. Im in the 6th week of flowering..and i know its not good to spray anything this late. But im not having my shit ruined with a bunch of seeds after i was expecting 6-7oz from each plant after all my hard work

  9. By the way i still cant completely tell how a male flower would look down towards the bottom like u mentioned. Ive seen tons of pics over the weeks and mine dont look as bad as the ones ive seen. To me they just look like female flowers that have barely developed..but idk. Nanners are all i need fpr prooff they indeed hermied

  10. I had basically the same thing happen last year with a bubblicious from Nirvana. Still no idea why it did, but just chalked it up to genes. Or that 1 in a million seed. Who knows. But I grew it out since it was my last run for the season, and it tuned out okay for me. There were like 3-4 small lower buds that were just packed with seeds, but the rest of the plant was great. Really tasty smoke, you just had to check for seeds. Besides the loaded buds there were maybe 10 seeds throughout 4 oz. So in my opinion, if you don't risk ruining any other plants, grow her/it out. Worst case scenario you could make hash with it. Good luck with it though.
