I have had  100% success with aero:
 
I use a cheap cloner..

I use Plain, non PH'd tap water ( my ppm is in the 500's)
no hormones, or additives  ( a few mils of Pro-tecT & KLN works well but not necessary )
no domes, no MISTING, no heat mat

For me, I find as long as I use a healthy mother 
& clean tools & area.
and don't fqu with for a couple weeks
100% roots.
I had bout 95%+ with rapid rooters/ ready rooters
but am away from grow too much
and can't keep misting dome
and chking moisture of plugs.
also LAZY.... so aero is the way for me
