Is Paclobutrazol dangerous for us??

  1. I recently came across Advanced Nutrients saying that Paclobutrazol is dangerous for human health

The article says "Paclobutrazol is Not only potentially harmful to your health; it's illegal for growing consumable crops. Negligent companies who include paclobutrazol as an ingredient in their products are putting you in danger of extreme consequences, both for your health and legal well-being, in the name of profit."

Please tell me how far its true ?

The complete article can be read here: Advanced Nutrients | The Truth About Paclobutrazol

  2. Yes. Pacto is banned for anything other than ornamental crops. It OS first amd foremeost extremely detrimental to your health if it gets on your skin in any way. There results for what happens when its smoked are still being waited on, but its nasty shit.

More than that, it ruins your weed. It inhibits resinand terpine production, so you stuff is less potent and smells amd tastes not as good. All the proof is there. One of the most common signs of pacto bud is that it has a very dull nose.

Never use phosphoload, gravity, bushmaster or Amy other micacle bookstores your yeild product. There's far too many people using this stuff.

  3. Also daminozine, that one is also used and is very bad, phosphoload has both in it. One of the issues with Alar and why it was originally banned was that when heated up it becomes extrmely carcinogenic.

  4. Thanks all ...

  5. It would be interesting to know how much is actually left in the plant after a full flowering cycle, as most are used within the first week of 12/12.

  6. There are only studies done on mango trees that i know of. They showed that trees foliar sprayed with paclo had acceptable levels of paclo in the new growth shoots after 60 days. This sounds ok, but there are two important things to note. First is that only new growth shoots were tested for paclo, not exisiting material that was actually treated with paclo. So even the new growth that was not treated has trace amount, which suggests to me its much higher in older growth. This brings up the second point, this study was done with foliar spraying of paclo, most people using it to grow giv e it to the roots in a feeding. A foliar feeding is a fraction of the amoubt of paclo, which does not saturate the roots, and it still shows up in untreated growth. I can imagine that saturating the roots and the entire plant would raise levels of paclo in the finished product significantly. Paclo and damino are classified as systemic pesticides, systemic means it travels through the entire plant, even with foliar feeding.

The other even more scary issue is gravity, which is very high in paclo and is used near the very end of flowering. If it shows up in new growth after 60 days you can imagine how much is in there if its dosed only 1-2 weeks before being pulled. No amount of flushing can get systemic oesticides out either.

Just stay away from the shit. Its poison, and even if o.e has arguement with that the fact is it inhibits resin and terpine production, essentially ruining the weed. I used to use phosphoload and verified this myself. I had a round with phospho and one without, same strain i had been using for three years so about as controlled as it can get. Both rou ds looked great, thiugh its frostier without paclo, the nose is not as loud and has lost the subtle floral notes with the paclo, and most importantly i had both batches tested by steephill labs in oakland, two samples from each batch, the round with paclo had ~25% less THC. The yeild on the paclo rou.d was only slightly higher. Considering the poor thc rating it causes and how that effects price it actually still nets you less money overall. Theres really zero reasons to use it.

I went to my local hydro shop to pick up some gravity that I've heard so much about they told me they banned shipping to California because They say paclobutrazol causes cancer when smoked over long periods of time. But then again so do cigarettes. And fast food. (don't try and smoke fast food)Is the risk worth the reward? Probably not but people do it anyway. I personally dont want to take the chance although it was banned they still have products with pac. In it they highly recommended not using any but I hear it does wonders for flower density

  8. Yeah, wonderfully dense buds full of rot with no nose or taste and subpar levels of thc, awesome. Its for beginners who think you need poison to get yield.

  9. Hey I'm not arguing that I've got no experience with it so I'll take your word for it my buds come out just fine without it but seeing as you've tried it is there another product you would recommend using for density or something you've replaced the pac. With

  10. First, what is it you are looking for, just denser buds? There is nothing that will makes buds hard like paclo as a direct replacement. You can do several things to get denser buds. First, if that is of high importance to you, start with strains that are dense. There are indicas that make rock hard buds on their own. If you want to work on getting softer buds denser, consider your light and spectrum you are using. Sodium lights will make plants stretch a lot. By vegging under halide your nodes will be closer. By using metal halide for the first two weeks of flower you can drastically reduce the stretch and make it node up a lot. Even just having a mixed spectrem with some halide in there will make it node up noticably more. Leds and even the new gavita hids will also cauee less stretch than just running all hps all the time. if you have hps keep them close as possible withiut burning the plant. I have recently been experimenting with fimming towards the end of budding to bulk it up with good and noticable results. A proper nutrient program will promote density too. Hope that helps!

  11. MFB - good reply, nice advice on the lighting. thanks. Question- what do you mean about fimming at the end of budding. I don't understand exactly, Seems ballsy to cut the top of you flowers. Any photos?
    Thanks

PS that article/ link by advanced nutrients about Paclo gives me a little bit of respect for that company.

nah brutha it will be no different, i used to use a lot of these types of chemicals at work (lawn and tree care) and i never liked them. just reducing the concentrate amounts will not make pac safer no, it will just take a little longer to poison you.

  13. Thank for the heads up, I wasn't real sure about this type of product.
