So I know 12/12 lighting, red spec lights (also with some blue) also nutrients. But where my questions lie are when i get close to harvest, people talk about topping your plant? Idk if that is relevant to flowering or what it means but do i need to cut fan leaves for better light access? Also when is best time to clone?

You want to clone during veg and during a time where the plant hasn't had a feeding. Near the end you will want to remove dying leafs and some people remove the small popcorn nugs. This frees up light space and more energy will be focused on the bigger areas. Once you get to the flower stage most of thethings you do for the plant is done. Just nute, flush and be patient.
