Ive germed over 35 seeds, only 3 popped, after a week only a tap root of a few millimeters grew, so i planted them, 3 days later, nothing has happened, except one of them has popped out of the soil just showing the seed. I cant figure this out. Ive never had this problem with germing. Any help would be awesome. -- seed popped above soil
I just remembered that the first 2 days of germing they were really cold, probably around 50 degrees, would this cause them to "go bad" and not grow like they should?
At the very least it would slow down the germ process or may halt it all together. 75 to 80 deg is what you want for optimal germination. When you plant the germinated seeds the time to sprout will be affected by depth of seed and whether they are planted right way up or not. Your soil looks a little too wet also.
Are these bag seeds? Mabye there was too much moisture when they were stored before they were planted
Def bag seed, at least a year old, ive had them for 6 months, and havent really made sure that they were stored right. And i know the chick i got them from didnt.

you could always try the paper towel or cheese cloth method if your soil is not cooperating. good luck
^above post here *might be your seeds, water pH is essential with tilled up fluffy top soil dryish around the outside and don't over water* this is solid, water only when light so the roots grow to find water. high & low pH lock out phosphorus. over watering causes delay and slowing of growth. & Nitrogen gets hit/doesn't absorb for sh1t in compacted soil, sprouts and roots like fluffy airy top soil only water around the seed and stem when light and airyish* d; PS: follow teh troubles link in sig, read everything :>P}}
This is after trying the paper towel method. I have 5 that have been germing for a day nothing showing yet. Just threw 2 more in that my dad found that he had stowed away. If the last 2 germ before the others then i think it may be safe to say they werent stored right and i should go about aquiring new seeds.
I think the heating may have been the problem. Theyre at 81 steady and 2 have popped and started showing a tap root after not even a full day.
And I don't do any of the paper towel stuff btw, i just stick em pointy end down in the rockwool and leave the roots alone..
So 5 days later and nothing at all. Finally got some different seeds that my brother had, just started germinating about 25 at midnight. If none of these work then i have no idea what the problem could be... After this many seeds i shoukd have had atleast one damn seed germ.
This isnt my first attempt. My first grow was successful but lack of good venting caused them to only grow about a 3rd of the bud that they should have. Had 2 others, one in a pc, died because it got way to hot when i switched to 12/12 because thats when summer hit. And my 3rd grow i got about 6 weeks in and had to give them to my moms ex boyfriend because of living arangments and he didnt care for them enough and they died. Now that i have my own place im out of my ogk and purple power.... The rest of my seeds are bagseed that apparently havent been stored right. Now that i got these new seeds after not even a day 4 seeds have popped and the roots are double the lengths of the the other seeds after a week.
your adding water and what else? if adding nothing but water, it's the water. maybe too much or the water might be too soft or too hard. you should be using filtered water (ppm 350-500+ is too high to grow well or at all depending on how much of what is in it) or distilled but for distilled add a little acid. the pH in distilled is around 5 (I think) and needs to be 6.8. before I switched to organic I was using 1-2ml fox farm grow big for adding the acid [says on the bottle it can be used like that anyway, I switched to organic now and am using straight water around 7.5pH. the high pH in the soil mixes and equilibrates because the soil is a little acidy. for the rockwool, I would add a little (like half to a quarter) fist full of dirt to equilibrate pH or just go with Aurora soil and or Light Warrior seedling is practically the same stuff and add EWC's <)epicness) water straight, should work out great if your pH isn't too low. *future* If your water pH is low adding to soil might drop your pH lower because soils have acid in them to lower average high pH and might drop it too low and nothing will grow. you need to hit the sweet spot at 6.8 pH in the soil. achieve this by watering with higher pH with acid soil then your good.
