Regardless, coming into a thread aimed at celebrating insects and trashing them is just plain juvenile. You knew what you were clicking.
Grew up on a farm actually. I know that's a weird phobia for someone who grew up in the country to have. It used to not be as bad when I was younger though. It gets progressively worse the older I get.
Good thread and videos Mantikore i like it. BTW i think Praying Mantis are the coolest bugs. do you have any videos of those?
There's a species of butterfly living in either Chile or Argentina They reside around/near a mountain Interesting this is tht on one side of the mt. this butterfly has adapted its patterns to the liking of a flower that only grows on tht side On the other side of the mt. the same species of butterfly has adapted its patterns to a different flower/plant tht only grows this side Anyone know what this butterfly is called? Been trying to find it for a while but to no fruition thnx
Well if you want to face your fear at a safe distance.. get high as fuck and watch some bug videos full screen. Fresh name change? And I like them too.. but haven't had my camera on me when I've found any as of late. I like watching them fly.. they look so alien. I try to upload my videos a day or so after I make them, so if I happen across one I will post it.
I used to watch that bug wars show on animal planet. Even though I am afraid, that shit is still super interesting. And the bug world is so brutal. It's never just a simple fight to the death. It is always like one bug paralyzes the other, lays its larvae inside it, then the larvae eat it from the inside out while it's still alive. Now that shit is gangster.
The 'to the victor go the spoils' video is a wasp dragging around a paralyzed cricket.. didn't get to record it stuffing the cricket in a hole though. It is a brutal world in the insect world. One of my favorites is the one assassin bug that lures it's victim in and then stabs it in the head with it's needle like mouth and sucks it's juices out. Kind of like the brain bug on Starship Troopers. My videos aren't flashy and edited.. but there are a lot of people who seem to like the raw footage of watching the movements of the bugs.
Found one today.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwiQARDYODE Today was a productive day at work.. for bug videos that is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piRizZKny2U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHUzq-KAVaY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXhfbN3dEdA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xOgkg5WnYs
Probably going to have to remove this nest soon before it gets too big.. but will try to leave it for as long as possible and get other updated videos.
We had a rather warm winter day couple days ago, well been having them.. but a yellow jacket seemed to be dazed and confused. Not sure what it was searching for.. looked like it was trying to nibble on me, but it never bit or stung.
