hi all and thanks for your time im jus wondering what light would i need in a grow space at... D 17" w 27" h 60" and how powerful of an extractor would i need e.g cubic meters an hour? thanks in advance +rep to the most helpful answer
Hey PTB2M, From seedlings throughout the vegetation stage I would use anywhere from 55-as much as can fit of cfl's (5000-5700k) I have space that is around yours and I use two 65watt 5700k clf bulbs and the plants thicken up with no stretching and make it to flower stage fast. Then in that space i would use a low wattage HID like 150hps or 250hps depending on ventalation and air temp. I personally use teh 150 hps mini sunburst from hydrofarm and love my results. on the cfls make sure to use or make a efficent reflector because this will help get light to those lower branches. If ya need me to explain more lemme know, hope this helps mate! happy growing!
thanks for your help floppy fish i think ill go for them 65w cfls x3 i think will be ok and a 250w is exactly what i was think i also have a 48w T5 im also going to add the hps probably a week before flower anyways. what sorta extractor you got for that light
Mini Sunburst HPS 150w w/ Lamp Well on the mini sunburst, you got it all in the hood, reflector, ballast and cooling deal. but with my cfls? i use something like this Amazon.com: Feliz 250 Watt CFL Grow Light 6500K with Reflector: Patio, Lawn & Garden I am a person fan of the t5 flouros too tho!
I'd get a 400w hid. Cheaper than the 250w cfl system and is much more light. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005DO30MI/ref=mp_s_a_1?pi=SL75&qid=1349905033&sr=8-1
