Seeds in weed... bad?

  1. Hey I was selling some bud to a friend and he got all worked up that there were a couple seeds in the ounce and that it must mean that it is shitty weed. Is this true? I mean is high quality seedless, or is that because someone picked them out?

  2. seeds (amongst other things) are a representation of how well the weed was tended to, so depending on what you passed the weed off as (regs, mids, dank), he might be justified in being pissed

  3. You mean that they are expecting that it was already picked out of the weed? But I mean does dank weed still have seeds when its on the plant? It does doesnt it? Well then that would mean it doesnt effect quality.

  4. I think he was expecting unpollinated weed. Weed that was grown to have no seeds. This is often called "sensimilla" meaning without seeds.

  5. Yeah like warlock said.. when people are buying "dank" weed they expect it to be seedless. To avoid having seeds in your harvest you have to eliminate any male plants before they pollinate your females. (so you can have nice seedless bud)

  6. ya like just about everyone has said or would say, it depends on what he was lookin for. a COUPLE of seeDs out of an ounce dont mean much though. it sometimes happens, especially out of an ounce .

  7. Yea I am talking about out of an ounce or two. The stuff was really dense and pretty dry though because it was vaccum sealed for going from BC to US. Still dank shit after sparking it.

  8. if a plant has seeds it was on the plant and it does effect quality since the plant is using its time to create seeds rather than to create THC.

  9. Personally I've never understood the whole "that's shit weed if there's seeds in it" case in point. The little one I have growing now was found as a seed from the weed I got. I had smoked the stuff the night *before* work. My coworkers (who smoke could smell it on me when I came in the next day. I think were surprised to find out it was smoked hours earlier and not on the car ride over. It was very good weed. lol

  10. The actual strain may not be "shitty". However, the grower is, which affects quality. The grower allowed this plant to be pollinated by a male. The female plant's THC production decreased. Also, only growers want seeds and they don't usually pick them out of a bag. Follow your intuition, the consumer is always right.
