  1. Thanks for the sub

Ya know, at the end of the day. I really like saying - Wow, that was fun :p

  3. Into each life a little rain must fall.

    Powdery mildew - egads

Well, it's kinda to be expected, we've had a super hot and humid summer/early fall. I'm using recycled soil (and all the baggage, both good and bad).

Back in the day, I'd be freaking out right now, lmao, but I've learned to chill.

Take a second to pause here and consider our options: neem oil, compost tea, raw milk, potassium bicarbonate, sulphur burner, co2, hurricane, Santa Anna winds.

The main plant is one month into flower and it is probably 80% covered, fek. Second plant is maybe 10~15% coverage.

As I look thru my trusty tool kit, I've got some 4.5ec neem, secondary metabolites and a couple of pounds of potassium bicarbonate (baking soda).

Think my weapon of choice for these fungal bas-tards is gonna be a baking soda bath. bawahahahahahha.

So, right after wakey bakey in the morn... I'm mixing enough up to give the ladies a little shower poo.

Oh the joys of our indoor container growing.

  4. have you heard of actinovate? it's a trusty aide of many pnw gardeners i hear

  5. Ummm yeah, I am aware of this fine company.

If I didn't have the selection of tools that I have, I'd be hot on something like this.

My plan is to give the baking soda treatment first. If that doesn't work, then I'm not screwing around and will take out the heavy artilery and blast the fungal snot out of 'em.

  6. Oh that interesting. Hi YgF!

  7. so just curious YgF, in case some of the mold survives to harvest, is there one 'processing' method that benefits over the others as far as mold's removal? I am anticipating the humidity will be quite a bit higher than it is right now in my area, around harvest time 2 months from now...

  8. Hey H2T

Oh man, I don't even want to think about having these fungal borgs around that long.

It is a fungus and produces a hyphae, I don't know if there is any residue left after you wipe them out.

What I do know is that it needs a source of food and can be killed. Kind of like the line in the movie Alien. "If it bleeds, we can kill it"

I gave the plants a good hosing down a little while ago with the bicarbonate. Tomorrow at this time, I'll know if I have to take the heavy iron out or if they will just unass the area before it get ugly.

And I still need to make some soil and fix the support in the tent for the reflector.

    Buzz kill for sure.

  9.....
I've got some catching up to do...

  10. Today was a busy day for me.

I actually got sumtin done. Been carping about the structural blah, blah blah of the new flower tent. Took that drawing I did, went to Homo Depot and got a slug of " T " 45 and some reallly cool corner connectors (3 way) and 6 sticks of 10' schedule 40 3/4" PVC.

Of course, had to do puffs and then some lunch, which of course means a nap. After my 4 hour lunch/nap break I got all enthused and went to put the 4 modules together and make the finished piece. Can you believe it ? I didn't have enough " T " fittings, mumble, mumble, growl, spit, curse. Fekking .33 cent part and I didn't buy enough, even with a parts list AND the damn drawing. Knew I should have taken another puff or two before I went the firs time. :p

    Porn tomorrow

  11. Ahhhhh,the story of a true weed head...LOL, I love it..well we always have tomorrow...:hello:....
And let's see some pornAge...pics are always better:D

  12. Just checked on the plants and got to thinking that it has been a little more than a week since I put any water into the "device". Plant doesn't look bad, has new growth and looks like it is just now adjusting to it's forever home.

Once, this plant gets some traction and shows vigorous growth, it will be the dreaded first drop or two of tcn.

NeWay, progress is being made. LMAO that is almost scarey

  13. The guy at the hardware store says plumbing is always a 3-tripper

  14. Oh god, I've only made 2 trips.

Shite, fire might as well drive over to HomoDepot and stumble around the pvc section.

    :)

I would like to ask a question?....

I have a few empty gallon containers that I would like fill and have ready for a botanical drench, or some other type of beneficial drench in a month or so. I don't have a air pump yet, but I would still like to try to give my bag bean grow (my first grow from the unanimous advice of many) as much of a chance to excel within my means.
Basically I would like to know what combinations/amounts to use per gallon. My arsenal includes the normal amendments, and such. I have five seedlings with their first true leaf set exposed and working on their second. They're in a starter mix (peat/ewc/rice hull/dolomite lime) from jiffy pellets. I've watered with a small amount of neen oil/silicon, and today a small amount of bioag's ful-humix.

    Any suggestions?

Thank you for your time and efforts!

    Peter

    Great question PP :)

I'm assuming that your containers are light tight and fairly air tight.

Without an airpump I'd make a tea of alfalfa, fish emulsion and epsom salt. You don't have to make this until you are 3 or 4 days away from wanting to use it.

    1/4 cup of the alfalfa
dash (1/8 tsp) of fish emulsion
    1/8 tsp of epsom salt.

Mix the alfalfa into the gallon container. Cover and stir frequently for the next 3 days.

On the 3rd day, add the fish emulsion and Mg.

It's ready to use at that point in time.

I just throw the gunk at the bottom of the gallon away when I'm finished. Yea, there is a way to recharge it and such, but given the cost of alfalfa and the associated fragrances - just chuck it, imho.

    HTH

you can keep this for quite a while, it just has a certain smell to it.

  17. I put the pipe down - for a bit NeWay, and........

Quite the nice structural engineering there Grandfathe. Thanks for the sneak peek, and the great alfalfa recipe!

  19. Big day today - Again.

Got a uv-C lamp (40w) and the associated fixture. Gonna take a pro-active approach to combating PM.

When you think about it, to combat PM after it is a PITS is kinda stoopid, especially since I am in a basement and Scroggin.

In the past, I had relied on a significant amount of airflow to prevent problems, but that is not gonna do it. So, I can do all kinds of exotic things after I've got problems, it makes more sense to deal with it up front and get out ahead of it. To that end, I am keeping the mass air flow movement and augmenting it with UV and reduction of humidity (dehumidifier time).

Upon reflection, I was pretty naive to think that I could do a basement thing and not have to deal with stuff. Wonder if it was the pot
