Help me understand Republicans

Discussion in 'Politics' started by GreenRangerFOH, Aug 29, 2012.

  1. I feel like I have misconceptions on what the republican party stands for and I feel that I have this irrational hate towards it.

  2. I'm not a Republican, but I think this is funny

  3. look up the words (as a blanket statement) :

    ignorant
    fanatic
    religious zealot
    hypocrite

  4. I have a better question. Help me understand people....lol

  5. or this

  6. It's funny liberals claim to be the most open minded but god forbid anybody else has a different opinion and when that happens they get all pissy an refuse to listen and think they're right.

  7. ;)

political debates are, for the most part, pointless. a debate or a conversation cannot be held without people resorting to name calling, getting defensive and making personal attacks.

politics in this day and age are fucking pointless. it's all about money, nothing else.

  8. They are one of the two teams that seek to tyrannize us. And they are doing a very good job. You should have an irrational hatred towards BOTH parties.

After "Party A" comes to power and institutes more laws against us, the "other" party comes to power after the people are fooled into thinking that voting can change things -- and they pass more oppressive laws, building on the mountain of existing laws. Nothing is ever repealed, government never shrinks.

And on and on it goes. Government expansion, as I said on another thread, is on auto-pilot. Both parties think that government is too small and needs more power.

  9. It would be a better use of your resources to learn about liberty, the libertarian philosophy, and the non-aggression principle. That way you will understand where both parties (and the two party system) fail.

    man...shut yo bitch ass up.

    disrespecting others isn't allowed here

  11. What they stand for in reality is nearly the exact opposite of what they claim to believe. They supposedly stand for individual freedom, free markets, liberty, limited government and so on. In reality they have displayed total disdain for these principles.

If you turn on the coverage of the RNC right now, they pretty much believe in the opposite of what they say they do in their speeches.

And because many somehow see any criticism of the Democrats/Republicans as a tacit endorsement of the other major party, I am obligated to say that the same goes for the Democrats.

  12. Yeah, shut it, trillions in debt from BOTH Republicans AND Democrats are NEEDED to save 'MERICA!

  13. Republicans - the most over stereotyped and hated against political party in America. Generally hated on by Democrats, apparently the more "tolerant" of the two (but in actuallity, Democrats are more often the pretentious, "my way or the highway" type. Not all of them, but more than I'd like to see). And where did this stupid redneck stereotype come from? You do realize republicans are generally more educated and generally from the higher class, right?

Btw I'm not even a Republican. I'm a poor, gun totin, Natty drinkin, reefer smokin, Commy hatin Libertarian hillbilly! Yeehaw.

  14.

There are rich Republicans which makes sense because that's who benefits the most from the GOP agenda.

  15.
There are also rich Democrats (that weird little place across the river called Maryland!)...But yea the upperclass tends to be more red, and the upperclass most certainly benefits more from the red's ajenda. It's kind of sad truely, major corporations puttin these old family businesses out on their ass, keeping supper off their tables, while those major corporations are busy making their trillionth dollar!

  16. They don't like women or minorities in any sort of position of power (but don't oppose cheap illegal immigrant labor), support religious freedoms (only if you practice Christianity), and think they prefer smaller government(but are okay with wasting tax payer funds on making abortion illegal and making it harder to vote).

  17. The Republican Party is hopelessly corrupt just like the Democrat Party but here is a link that will answer your question:

However if your tired of endless wars, a massive national security state, the erosion of civil liberties, culture wars ignore the Republifucks and Demonrats and take a look at the Libertarian Party.

  18. I am a republican, and have the same curiosity on how liberals cognitively make their political decisions, which to me are completely illogical. I don't want to get into a political argument, because no one will change anyone's mind, people just get mad and act like children. To answer your question, ill give you my "line of reasoning".

Taxes- too high, i believe in a flat tax, 9% for me is the same as 9% for you.

Abortion- disgusts me, it's murder (unless it's rape/women may die/etc), and is a black mark on our society. Honestly, worse than the holocaust in my opinion, and is the #1 reason i'm a republican.

Gay Marriage- don't care, and the party is beginning to move on

Welfare- Important for those who need it, but I feel that it's abused and taken advantage of. Too easy to get.

Guns- proud hunter/gun owner; guns in the hands of Americans is incredibly important. Chipping away at gun rights will eventually destroy them

    Any others ?

Im pretty high, so im up to civil conversation, but I don't feel like arguing tonight.

  19. Why bother bumping this?
