Didn't mean to rant earlier but when people can't upload pics, or have problems with their account and stuff like that, it takes forever to get fixed, if it even does, but their is plenty of time to come up with these notifications or advertisements for other dumb shit. I for one don't want a notification on my phone, and someone go to use it and see I have a reply in my marijuana growing website. We're supposed to be about security here, and GC just put at risk everyone using a smartphone to surf. Send me a pm saying their is a new feature. Don't automatically turn it on.

GC doesn't make the ForumRunner app. I think the amount of control they have over features is pretty minimal.

I think your problem is not with GC, but with ForumRunner.
GC doesn't make the ForumRunner app. I think the amount of control they have over features is pretty minimal.
If its gc's app, then I think they have full control over what happens to it. A new feature would have to be at least approved by them right? If not, again, putting everyone a risk. If you can't control what happens, their is the potential for things to go wrong.

That was my point, ForumRunner is not GC's app. They have set it up so that people can use ForumRunner to browse GC, but ForumRunner is not made by GC so I imagine they have a very limited amount of control over it.

Well my fix, didn't fix it. Anyone? Shouldn't their be a mod that knows this shit?
Moderators have nothing to do with this sort of thing. I was a mod for a few years, they have absolutely nothing to do with the technical aspects of the forum.
Gnik drazil is the tech admin, he might know something about it, but I'm not sure if he'd be able to do anything since ForumRunner is a 3rd party application.
He might chime in eventually though, just gotta be patient and see I guess.

Nvm figured it out. Settings, notifications, GC, turn off message center.

Can't figure out how to turn it off. I'm on an iPhone

Restart your phone.
I use the app on Android. If I go into settings and turn push notifications on, they don't actually turn on until my phone has been restarted.
I'm not sure if this will solve your issue or not...just throwing out an idea.

I'm gonna try this. Were you guys only getting notifications on like one thread? Out of all my threads only one of them were popping up.

Nothing???? Still???? No mods know how to use this program? I know they sure as hell aren't all fixing the photo problem again!
GC doesn't code the app. Forum Runner does. You'll have to shoot them an e-mail to let them know that this particular issue is a problem. Perhaps it's a bug. As I said, a simple reboot fixes the issue on Android, so perhaps the iOS version is just faulty somewhere. They can't fix it if they don't know about it.

Really??? Still???
Its already been said several times that the mods have no control over it.
You can also disable notifications on your phone.
Read more intently, and chill dude.

I know GC does code it and all that stuff. At lead I do now, I just figured GC would have someone that would be knowledgable of how to work it, since it is their site. It would just be a smart thing to do I think. That way we don't have to contact a third party and wait for that. If you are gonna have a third party make your app, at least one person at GC should know how to use it.
I mean they really have nothing to do with it.
Forum runner developed an app that allows people to browse GC because *they* thought it would be a good idea.
Grasscity didn't come to them and say "hey make us an app!"
Plus, as property of forum runner, its not like the mods have access to the coding or anything.

Lots of us here DO know how to use it, and we've given you several suggestions: none of which are working. That necessitates an email to the people who make the app, as it seems to be a bug. I use 3 different Forum Runner applications on my Android, and they all behave the same way: notifications do not disappear until I change the 'push notification' settings, and then reboot my phone.
Would you like me to do it for you? It'll take all of a minute.
