  1. LED Grow Lights by Super Grow LED - Full spectrum LED grow lights

Just got a few questions, I'm a noob.

    1. Is there a dial or something that allows me to control the light between the 420-730nm spectrum? So for instance, if it's time to change my light to suit the flowering period, do I spin a dial or what? I don't know how the light control works.

    2. Will this 1 light really be all I need for 1-2 plants?

    3. Is this worth the price in your opinion?

    4. If my area is much bigger than the suggested area for one light, do I need to block off let's say..half the area? Or, can I just keep the space open and implement reflective foam inside the whole closet?

  2. 1. LEDs do not have Dails. You turn it on and thats it. A few rare models have a Grow and Bloom switch (one I have does...Solarstorm). They sell them Veg Flower or Full Spectrum usually.

    2. Depends. Cant tell what the wattage is on that unit.

    3. No

    4. Flat white paint reflects just about all light and its cheap.

  3. Just based on the website alone (IMNSHO) I would not go with that. Anyone who has grandiose claims like that without any technical details I wouldn't trust.

Furthermore 8 units for $1600 with only 184 watts is significantly more expensive than most other offerings.

If you want a budget setup try the Blackstar "500W" from Gotham Hydro - I haven't used it yet but there are a lot of decent reviews. 300W draw and roughly comparable to 800W HPS for only $550.

  4. The Blackstar only says for Flowering. The Supergrowled is for both veg and flower.

  5. You would be slightly incorrect they sell a grow bloom and full spectrum

  6. Right - the full spectrum (ending in UV) also includes UV which helps the density and potency of the buds and is suitable for the entire grow cycle.

The bloom one (HO) is shifted more for flowering so you get more intensity in the red end for the same wattage.

It's just like how people use HPS for the entire cycle despite how it's technically better suited for flowering.

With the SuperGrowLED being $1600 for 184W (assuming even that's the full draw) the full spectrum Lighthouse 500W (draws 300W or 60% more) is $550. So get one HO and one UV for $1100 with 600W draw and you have 3.3x the light output at 32% less price.

  7. I started out with 16 of their original Halo 25 model. Since then i have added 12 of the SK450s. I would not trade them for anything. They out perform my HPS hands down. They run cooler, no venting hoses needed, no ballast and they draw less power. I would put them up against HPS/MH lights any day. In fact i did just that. That's why I am in the process of replacing all my HPS with SK450s as I can afford.

  8. The prices for lights you're looking at are outrageous. Look up the Mars hydro leds. They have a thread here. That will get you started.

  9. Just think abut this:

FULL Spectrum would be WHITE light that approximates natural day light, not a bunch of non white spectrums mounted to a heat sink
