hey guys, today being the retarded fuck I am, i accidentally dropped my weed down an AC vent in the second story of my house.

i usually use the vents to stash, but this time i was a complete idiot, and i put a jar in there i usually dont. this was a smaller jar that just dropped through the hole, losing me a quarter of really dank bud.

ever happen to anyone? did you guys get your weed back?

i know where it most likely is, but i don't really want to open an air duct.

Anyone also know if opening the air duct is safe or not? if its safe and i won't end up costing myself even more, then i'll definitely do it.
the air duct is in the ceiling of my garage.

Its safe, just make sure you seal it off well when you close it up. Duct tape is literally made for this, you should be able to get your bud back.

Im no duct expert or anything haha but i don't think it should be too difficult to get open and put back together as long as you are careful, and if you do fuck up, just use duct tape. If you have a friend in the heating/cooling business ask him for some tips or something.

Go on craigslist and search for a "420 friendly HVAC guy" to get it back.

I'm not a craigslist guy, couldnt find it :(

is it really necessary to hire help in this situation? if it comes down to that I might just not hire anyone, and bite the loss of $100 worth of weed

You should be able to rip it up and then fix it with duct tape. Duct tape would definitely cover up any cracks/holes you make. Dont waste that weed man, I'll be disappointed in you

You shouldn't use regular duct tape (the common gray fabric, super-sticky stuff)...it's usually not rated for HVAC work. It doesn't always stick well given the hot/cold forced-air conditions it'd be subjected to, and it's generally not UL listed either. (Wikipedia provides a concise description.) Use foil "duct tape" (also called HVAC tape), like this.

But it shouldn't be too hard to take apart...maybe a picture or two might help us help you. Good luck getting your stash back, blade! :smoke:

here is your problem bro. if you leave it in you are blocking your vent which will be worse than cutting the vent and putting it back with duct tape. go to your hardware store explain that your son put a jelly jar in your vent they will give you a "sleeve" that can slide over two ends of duct work and you can tape the edges of that sealing it back up. this will be MUCH better than cutting and holding the two ends together with only tape. oh and you get your bud back.

EDIT: glad to see no one has called it DUCK tape lol

Bwahahahaha this is the first thing I thought of!

If it's a Mason jar you could use a strong magnetic wand to stick to the metal lid and pull it up.. Make sure if you do it this way you play mission impossible music in the background... Lmao

Gently try to pry one side of the vent down. Sometimes they are held in place by lever springs. :smoke:
