In most U.S. jurisdictions, assault/battery is charged as the same classification of assault/battery regardless of your gender and the gender of the person you assaulted. But that really doesn't go to say that the laws are enforced evenly between the genders.
However if you struck a transgendered person, depending on the circumstances of the assault, you could also be charged with a hate crime.
