Yeah its strange. Never really understood that. I am the smartest of my main group of friends and I really enjoy that, maybe like you said its to feel superior. I do enjoy people that can carry on an intellectual conversation though.

Lol i got to dumb myself down around my friends, I love them don't get me wrong but like can only show 40% of my vocabulary, and share 30% of my thoughts otherwise i get the D'oh face. Granted i find they are more sociable in the sense that as a group they are easier to discuss or relate to.

People like others who make them feel better about themselves. This can be accomplished in assuming different roles, the stoner/drunk/moron/ redneck/class clown whatever. I sir did not call anyone a tard or by your reference "a retard". There are in fact new studies that show an increase in growth, not a decrease in cell matter like many have believed in the past. I do not believe that cell growth can increase intelligence.
